Fresher’s week is an important week for university students, it is the week where you meet new people and make friends. It is an integral week for integrating students into their new area, where they will be spending the majority of their time. This time is used to explore and experience your new city. Fresher’s usually consists of partying, clubs and house parties, however not every student is into partying. So what do you do when uni freshers isn’t for you? Check out the mall

Get to know the area you are in and take a trip down to the mall, you never know who you will meet whilst you are out browsing. You won’t be the only one doing this, there are plenty others who will also be out exploring the area and doing some much needed retail therapy.

Library

Since you are studying and will be spending much of your time in the library reading for research purposes, why not check out the library. It’s a great place to meet people who will also be studying on your course. You may meet people before your course even begins.

Galleries/Museums

Explore the history of the city that you are now spending your time studying in and visit some galleries and museums that it has to offer. You can enjoy some art and learn a little about the area at the same time.

Events that your accommodation might be holding

As well as your university, the accommodation that you are staying in will hold different events to help you get to know others who are also attending your university and to initiate the process of you meeting new people and people on your doorstep who you can go shopping with and travel to university with. So keep an eye out and make the most of these events because they are where you live, you won’t have to commute far.

Movie night with flatmates

Suggest having a movie night with your flatmates, it’s a great way to bond and get to know each other,as it gives you time to talk and enjoy a film which you all may or may not enjoy. Either way you get an insight into each others likes and dislikes and bond.
