By now you have already settled to life at Temple University. Whether you see your parents every few weeks, just on the holidays, they miss seeing you. That’s why Temple University has a weekend dedicated especially for parents! This year, Parent and Family Weekend at Temple will be on October 13th-15th. Temple has many events planned, and to help you, we listed 6 things to do with your family once they stop by!

1. See a hypnotist perform live.

On Friday, October 28, mentalist, Joshua Seth, will make an appearance at Temple University in room 200 of the Student Center. Joshua is a hypnotist who has performed at several college campuses. He always makes his shows hilarious to watch! Attending his show will be a wonderful opportunity and if you or your parents are up for it, you can even volunteer to be part of his act! Joshua Seth’s show is sure to put on a mind-blowing performance!

2. Go to a football game.

On Saturday, October 29, you can take your family to the Lincoln Financial Field when the Temple Owls take on the Cincinnati Bears! This will be a perfect opportunity to show your school pride!

3. Attend South Street’s Pumpkin Fest.

On October 29, you and your family can attend South Street’s Pumpkin Fest! There will be hayrides, pumpkin painting, crafts, live music, and more. This will be a great idea, especially if you bring your younger siblings along!

4. Visit The Edgar Allan Poe National Historic Site.

Get in the Halloween spirit by visiting the Edgar Allan Poe National Historic site! The famous site is the location where Poe wrote some of his most famous works, such as “The Tell-Tale Heart.” It is located in the Spring Garden area and admission is free!

5. Have brunch right on campus.

On October 30, you can take your family for a Sunday brunch! The brunch will be held at Mitten Hall from 9am-12 pm.

6. Get a Philly cheese steak!

If you’re parents are going to be in the city, they need to try an authentic Philly cheesesteak! There are so many places to get one such as Pat’s, Geno’s, or Tony Luke’s!
