1. Chill out and clear your mind by meditating at the Berkeley Zen Center.
Whether you’ve never meditated before or meditate daily, drop by the Zen Center for some serious peace and quiet. Come by for their Wednesday Drop-In Meditation or sign up online for one of their many classes!
2. Fly a kite and admire San Fransisco from afar at Cesar Chavez Park.
This is not your typical city park. Located on the edge of the Bay with 90-acres of gorgeous land, Cesar Chavez Park is an amazing place for a romantic stroll, a kite-flying excursion, or a BBQ with friend– all the while catching some mind-blowing views of all three bay bridges, Alcatraz, and Angel Island.
3. Picnic on a sunny afternoon at Dolores Park.
Dolores Park is the epitome of good vibes. It’s the perfect place to bring your speaker, grab a bottle of wine and cheese, and relax with a group of friends while watching the sun set over San Fransisco.
4. Enjoy your Sunday brunch at the Wat Mongkolratanaram Thai temple.
Every Sunday morning, this Thai Temple opens its doors to Berkeley residents for some seriously delicious authentic Thai food! Exchange a few dollars into tokens and make your way to a variety of different lines, where you can choose from vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes, as well as soups, desert, and beverages.
5. Explore the breathtaking redwood trees in Muir Woods.
Take a day trip to hike alongside some of the tallest tree species on Earth! Be sure to wander through the 6 miles of gorgeous walking trails and breathe out any of your pent-up stress from city life.
