You can’t deny having a favorite toy growing up: My Little Pony, Barbie, Hot Wheels, Pokémon cards, Tamagotchi, a Game Boy, Etch A Sketch and so on and so forth. Similar to when Pillow Pets hit the scene, Japan has a new collectible that’s spreading like wild fire: the Alpacasso or “Arpakasso.” These little alpacas are seriously cute. Check out what these alpaca Japanese plush animals are all about.

What Is Alpcasso?

If you’ve ever gone into an arcade, you’re familiar with the claw machines that make winning nearly impossible; legit, I don’t think I’ve ever won a single prize out of these machines. Amuse, the company that creates items for these machines are the inventors of these fluffy Alpacasso plush animals. Since their release in 2011, These Japan alpaca plush stuffed animals have taken the international toy market by storm. You can now purchase alpaca, sheep, cats, Alpacasso keychains and other plush toys. There are also several Alpacasso sizes to choose from. Alpacasso even has a strong social media presence: alpaca emojis and alpaca-themed app store games. Arpakassos are legit the new Hello Kitty!

Where To Buy Alpacasso?

You can purchase a Japan alpaca plush stuffed toy a.k.a. the Alpacasso pretty much anywhere online. However, there are specific vendors to avoid who sell knock-off Alpacassos. Here is a list of fake Arpakasso vendors: Mon-Chanton-UK, Blippo.com, CutesyKink, Premium_For_Plush/Giftshotel on Ebay, Arpakassoshophk, Taobao, Aliexpress.com and ones sold on Amazon. The best place to purchase a real alpaca is from Rosy’s Garden or Tokyo Otaku Mode.
