YouTube Channels To Help You Get Your Yoga Fix

Quarantine and stay-at-home orders continue to drag on in the United States, which means it’s still not possible to go to the gym to get your regular workout in. Even though this is extremely inconvenient, there are plenty of workouts you can do from the comfort and safety of your own home!

One workout that I’ve been using the most is yoga. You don’t need to go to a formal class in order to practice yoga. In fact, I think yoga is one of the best workouts you can do at home because you don’t need a ton of special fancy equipment and it’s easy to tailor to your own schedule and your own goals. Plus, yoga is good for your mind as well as your body.

Here are some of my favorite YouTube channels that can help you get your yoga fix from your own home.

Yoga with Adrienne

Yoga with Adrienne was one of the first-ever yoga YouTube channels I’ve ever found and it continues to be my go-to when I’m looking to do yoga at home. All of her videos are slow-moving and relaxing, just like you would expect from a yoga class. With over 500 videos on her channel, there are a ton of options to choose from so you’re bound to find one that works for you.

Her videos come in a variety of lengths, ranging from quick five-minute morning or bedtime workouts to practice that clock in at around an hour, so it’s easy to find one that works with your schedule no matter how busy you are.

She also releases lots of themed videos that focus on specific health goals (like Yoga for Flexibility or Yoga for Weight Loss) or that are designed around specific people or themes (like Yoga for Vulnerability or Yoga for Dancers). Adrienne has a way of making yoga accessible for everyone regardless of how long you’ve been practicing.

Yoga with Kassandra

With the different yoga styles offered by Yoga with Kassandra, her channel gives you the ability to sample lots of styles of yoga for free from the comfort of your own home.

Kassandra’s channel includes an area that lists yoga classes by style, including yin yoga, vinyasa flow, and power yoga. There’s a ton of options to choose from, so you have the ability to sample and explore different classes to discover what works best for you.

According to her channel, Yoga with Kassandra is primarily focused on yin yoga, which is a slow-paced style where poses are held for longer periods of time than they would be in other styles of yoga. She posts yin yoga classes weekly, so if you’re looking to make yin yoga part of your weekly home workout routine, Yoga with Kassandra might be the way to go.

SaraBethYoga

SaraBethYoga is a good pick if you’re looking to make yoga part of your daily routine but you don’t have time to devote a whole hour to it. Sara Beth has yoga practices on her channel sorted by time ranging from 10 minutes to 30 minutes.

She has playlists of practices targeted towards a variety of different focuses, like stress relief or posture, all short enough to do on a daily basis. There’s even a playlist of five and 10-minute practices you can do at your desk at work or in class.

SaraBethYoga makes it easy to make yoga a part of your everyday routine, even if you’re super busy and don’t have the time to commit to an hour-long class on a daily or weekly basis.

Travis Eliot

If you’re a serious yogi who’s looking for some longer, more intensive practices to do at home, Travis Eliot may be the channel for you. Most of the workouts on Travis’s channel are at least half an hour-long, with some lasting as long as 90 minutes, so this might be a good choice if you dedicate a lot of time to working out and you’re looking to devote some serious time to your yoga practice.

The type of yoga that Travis’s channel offers stands out from the other channels as well. There seems to be an emphasis on power yoga, a modern and athletic approach to yoga that focuses on getting you to work up a sweat. If you’re looking to get better at yoga while also working up a sweat, Travis Eliot’s YouTube channel may be worth looking into.

Heart Alchemy Yoga with Michelle Goldstein

Heart Alchemy Yoga with Michelle Goldstein is another great option on YouTube if you’re looking for power yoga but don’t have an hour every day to dedicate to your yoga practice. Michelle has a ton of power yoga workouts on her channel, most of which are under an hour-long, like a Morning Flow power yoga workout that’s only 26 minutes long

Michelle also has a Quarantine Yoga series on her channel, perfectly designed for people who are looking to start or continue their yoga practice while stuck in their homes under the current stay at home orders throughout the United States. Heart Alchemy Yoga is a good option if you’re interested in shorter power yoga practices.

Breathe and Flow

If sweaty power yoga isn’t your speed, maybe try vinyasa flow yoga on for size courtesy of Breathe and Flow. Vinyasa flow yoga is defined as smooth yoga that flows between poses and focuses on pairing your breathing with your movements.

Bre and Flo, who are the hosts of the Breathe and Flow YouTube channel, have a ton of vinyasa flow practices on their YouTube channel varying in length, so you’ll be able to find one that works with your schedule.

If you’re feeling intimidated about going into vinyasa flow yoga as a novice, don’t worry. They have a 7-day series on their channel called “EMBARK with Breathe and Flow” designed to be a beginner’s guide to the world of yoga. If you’re looking for some nice relaxing yoga, Breathe and Flow might be the way to go.

Have a yoga YouTube channel that you love and you didn’t see mentioned here? Try any of the channels recommended on this list? Let us know in the comments!
