Moving in with your loved one is a risky decision but you never know till' you try. You must have these conversations if you want to make things work before taking that big step

Moving in together is a HUGE step on every relationship, it takes a lot of decision thinking or merely be moved by a crazy love power. Once it has happened though, you can be sure you have reached a milestone.

Before moving in with your better half there are so many stuff you have to put on the table to make sure you are both riding the same wave if you know what I mean.

Cohabiting with the love of your life, seeing his face first thing in the morning and late at night is just one of the great things that living with someone brings. But let’s be real here, it not all roses and butterflies all the time!

Here are some important conversations you must have before moving in with him:

1. Let’s talk about money

The financial aspects of the cohabitation are very important, believe it or not! It’s not romantic at all but it can bring up some serious issues if it’s not spoken up front. You know what they say… Money has no friends.

The conversation won’t be easy, it’s always difficult having a “money talk” but remember that you are not roommates, you are sharing a house with your partner because you are taking your relationship up to the next level.

If you both work but one makes more money than the other and have similar financial personal responsibilities than the bills should be fairly divided. When moving in together your financial aspects move as well.

2. Your aspirations and goals

Sadly when you moving in together things do change, whether for the better or worse. As time passes by people in general change, most aspects of one’s personality stay the same but others evolve.

Your preferences, habits, and aspirations could evolve or stay at the exact point. You both have to talk about what you want, what are your goals and where are you heading to in order to keep up with each other and be on the same page.

3. Who will take care of the housework?

Maybe you don’t like ironing shirts and probably he hates washing the dishes. You must talk about this and divide the house chores where you can both be in a win-win situation.

Don’t assume he will take care of washing the clothes if you haven’t talked about it cause’ most probably he will be thinking that you’ll get it done. How about if he cooks and you wash the dishes? You both have to take good care of your love nest and it’s something you must talk about first, to avoid any disagreements or future arguments.

4. Having pets

It turns out that you are a cat lover and his best friend is a dog. You’ve always dreamt of having “Garfield” in your love nest, right by your side and your better half but he wants to adopt Snoopy and this is the perfect trigger for a big argument.

You must talk about having pets before moving in together and decide whether you really want to and make a decision that makes both of you happy.

Moving in with your loved one is a risky decision but you never know till’ you try. There are ups and downs but it is still an exciting overwhelming feeling. You’ve just got to remember you are two individuals who were raised by two different families in most probably different environments.

Communication is the key, always talk about how you feel and what do you expect. Do not let your glass of water get full and spill before saying a word.
