3. Eat For Less

6. Avoid Waitrose in Jesmond
We all know Waitrose is not ideal for a student budget. We all know Waitrose thinks caviar is an ‘essential’. Yet, so many students still end up shopping in the Jesmond store. Even pricier than your average Waitrose, this does not lead to a happy bank balance. Put the pink prosecco ice lollies down, turn around, and order your groceries online. You can thank me later.
7. Grainger Market
Filled with fruit stalls, butchers, and independent cafes, this is heaven for any broke student. Often cheaper than the supermarkets, by shopping here you’ll be supporting local businesses while saving cash. Win win!
