Being a University of Kent student is truthfully not that exciting of a deal. However, being a University of Kent student in the Medway campus is to say the least, something different. While the Canterbury campus got the real touch of university life with bigger events, grounds, and everything in between. There’s nothing more beautiful than watching the sunrise from the windows of Drill Hall library at 4am after a long hard night of studying. Probably the number one way people make friends in Medway is by finding a companion to complain with about your university. The building is too small, Tesco closes too early, Starbucks never has enough hot chocolate, and so on… These are the type of friends you can rant to and also survive with through the tough times during university so there is at least one positive outcome of living there.

9. Online shopping during breaks between lectures

What do you do when you have a two hour break between lectures? Do you take the 15-minute walk home, prepare lunch, then go back to your next lecture energised and ready to go? No, definitely not. You’ll most likely end up in Starbucks with your second cup of coffee for the day and scrolling through ASOS on your phone for clothes you don’t have the money to buy.
