Netflix has truly saved me from losing my mind due to boredom during those days at home where I didn’t have work or school. There are an endless amount of shows, documentaries, and of course movies on Netflix that you can binge on for what seems like forever. If you happen to be bored at home, check out these 15 Netflix movies that are definitely worth watching!
1. All The Bright Places
This movie is just a breath of fresh air when it comes to teenage love stories. The main characters are both struggling with very real issues that I feel most teenagers these days can find relatable. And it’s not just teenagers. Being in my early twenties, this movie hit me in my feelings a lot harder than I thought it would when it came to viewing the main characters struggle with suicidal tendencies, losing a loved one, and mental disorders. And while that all seems rather heavy, this movie does a great job of balancing everything out with the right amount of cute teenage romance. The two main characters are played by Fanning and Justice Smith, and they do a wonderful job chemistry-wise and acting-wise. Definitely give this movie a try if you are bored at home!
This movie caught me off guard with how good it was. If you like suspense, drama, and mystery, then this is the movie for you. This movie starts off with a little girl named Chloe who is locked away in her home with her father in what appears to be a post-apocalyptic world where it is dangerous to go outside. Soon, a mysterious stranger gives her the opportunity to see the outside world and know the true reason for being locked away. So if you like thrillers, then definitely give this movie a shot!
3. The King
Timothee Chalamet has truly brought his game in this movie as he stars as King Henry V. The premise for this movie is how Henry V takes on the role of king after his father and brother pass away, leaving him to take on the responsibilities of ruling his kingdom. If you love suspenseful movies with opposing kings and war, give this Netflix movie a try!
4. Incredibles 2
The Incredibles movie franchise has truly blown up, and if you never got around to seeing the second movie in theaters when it came out then you need to check this movie out on Netflix! Even if you have already seen it, I’d even argue that seeing it the second time is even better. It’s is one of those Netflix movies that is heartwarming, funny, and will certainly keep you entertained if you happen to be bored at home.
5. Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil And Vile
Zac Efron and Lily Collins give some of their greatest performances ever during this movie. If you are fascinated by Ted Bundy’s past and how he functioned in his everyday life, then you need to watch this Netflix movie.
6. Spider-Man Into The Spider-Verse
I absolutely loved this movie, and if you are a fan of spider man, then you will too. Even if you aren’t that big of a fan of superhero movies, I still believe that you will find enjoyment in this movie with all of its humor, well-drawn animation, and great storytelling!
7. Bird Box
We’ve all seen the memes surrounding this movie, but I actually thought this movie has a great (while also terrifying) premise that keeps you on your toes as you cheer for Sandra Bullock to survive in this world where you need to be blind to survive.
8. Murder Mystery
This movie is equally hilarious, as well as heartwarming and cheerful. In summary, Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler play a married couple that end up going to Europe for vacation to basically save their marriage. But what was supposed to be a romantic getaway turns into an attempt to clear their name as they get framed for a series of murders. If that doesn’t hook you, I don’t know what will!
9. Ralph Breaks The Internet
Out of all of the Netflix movies out there, this is truly one of the most entertaining Netflix movies on this list. Not only is it adorable, but super entertaining. Overall, it’s a perfect movie for those days when you are bored at home and have nothing else do to.
10. Horse Girl
If you like psychological Netflix movies, then I’d highly recommend this movie to take your mind of your boredom. This movie focuses on a girl named Sarah, an introverted, isolated woman that finds her dreams blending into her reality. This movie will play lots of fun tricks on you in an engaging and mind-blowing way.
11. What Happened To Monday
This movie is a couple years old, but is still on Netflix and is still one of my favorites. In this movie, families are allowed only one child due to overpopulation, making identical septuplets have to evade the public eye in order to survive. But when one of them goes missing, they have to avoid governmental execution and dangerous infighting while investigating the disappearance of what happened to their sibling.
12. Avengers: Infinity War
This action movie is about three hours long, the perfect length for a movie when you are bored out of your mind and are looking to kill some time. While I know most of us have already seen this movie, it doesn’t hurt to watch it again when you are struggling to find something else to do.
13. The Silence
If you love horror movies, you will be entranced by this one! Especially if you are a Kiernan Shipka fan.
