The 5 Pairs Of Shoes You Need At College

Packing for your first year of college is hard since you can’t quite be sure what you’ll actually end up needing. To make it a little easier for you, we’ve put together a list of the five pairs of shoes you need at college.

A Comfy Every Day Pair (Or Two) That Goes With Everything

As much as you dream about wearing the perfect outfit with the perfect shoes every day, by mid semester you’ll probably start wearing the same pair of shoes every day. You’re going to want to make sure the shoes you’re wearing every day are comfortable. Probably the most important pair of shoes you need is your basic every day pair. Depending on your style, you might wear sneakers or Converse, or you might like combat boots. Either way, you’re going to want a pair of shoes that are comfortable and go with everything.

With the limited space you’ll have in your dorm room, you’re going to want your shoes to do double duty. A pair of shoes you need for sure is a set of sneakers. Hopefully you can find a pair of sneakers that are good for working out as well as really cute for every day wear. Inevitably there will be a day where you have to do a lot of walking, like when you’re going to a home game or if you head out to explore your new city. A Pair Of Rain Boots

Unless you’re going to college somewhere like Arizona, you’re going to want a pair of rain boots. You may not necessarily need tall boots, but a list of shoes you need would be incomplete without a pair of rain boots. Nothing ruins a day faster than having to sit through a two hour class with wet socks because your shoes did a bad job keeping the water out. These boots are a cheaper alternative to Hunter boots in the same style.

A Warm Pair Of Shoes For The Cold Weather

Again, the shoes you need depend on the climate of where you’re studying. But if you’re going to be dealing with cold weather, you’re going to want a warm pair of boots. Look for a pair that’s water proof, has good traction on the bottom so you don’t sleep, and will be sure to keep your feet warm. You don’t necessarily have to sacrifice style for comfort on this one, but with this pair of shoes at least you should definitely prioritize practicality over fashion. At the very least, find a pair of boots that are water proof that you can wear with really thick socks.
