5 Things You Should Watch First On Disney+

Disney+ is finally out and we’ve spent most of our time laying in bed watching countless reruns of old Disney Channel shows. There are so many movies, shows, and Disney+ originals you may not know where to start, but we’ve got you covered. Here are the 5 things you should watch before anything else on Disney+.

1. High School Musical: The Musical: The Series

Disney+ was truly the “start of something new” for the beloved High School Musical franchise. Those that grew up jamming to the soundtracks are in for a special treat when it comes to High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.

The series takes place right back at East High, where the drama department is setting out to do their first production of High School Musical. There’s drama, heartbreak, humor, and of course singing. Fans can sing along to all the HSM classics but are also introduced to brand new songs made especially for the new characters.

The show is set up almost like a sit-com, but there’s way more drama than you would expect. How will Nini cope with having to play Gabriella while her ex-boyfriend Ricky plays Troy? And what will EJ do when he has to watch Nini, his girlfriend, schmooze it up with her ex? Not even Sharpay herself could write this drama.

The underlying part of the plot shows the core of a high school theatre department and brings to light stories of growing up and fitting in. As these teens tackle high school just like the East High Wildcats did in the movies, they also have a lot to live up to. I mean, how can you top the iconic routine that is “Bop to the Top”?

Although only two episodes have been released at the time this article is being written, fans are already set up for a thrilling plot.

The Mandalorian brings nostalgia from the original Star Wars trilogy, but it also provides a fresh new plot that is exciting fans for the future of the saga.
