In terms of the decorations and food and drink stationery items for your Mardi Gras Party, make sure they are in the colors of gold, green, and purple. These three colors are traditional Mardi Gras colors and each has specific meanings: Gold for power; green for faith, and purple for justice.

The reason behind those three colors being seen as the Mardi Gras Colors stems from the reported rumors of the welcoming committee of Grand Duke Alexis handing out gold, green, and purple beads to the party-goers when The Grand Duke visited New Orleans in 1872.
