With all of the classes, food, bills, and unnecessary books we need to buy, our pockets are empty and our bank accounts are crying. Just because we’re broke doesn’t mean we can’t go out and have a good time. So, if you’re a student at the University of Arizona, I’ll help you out. Here are 10 things to do at the UA when you’re broke AF.
Whether you want some alone time or want to grab a couple of friends and go get some exercise, ‘A’ mountain is the perfect place. Stay for a while and sit to watch the beautiful sunset. I can promise you, you won’t regret it. So better go strap on your hiking shoes!
Head down to the UA Mall and don’t forget to grab the 3 F’s: Friends, Food, and Frisbees. If you have these 3 things, you’re set. That’s all you need for a fun afternoon at the U of A.
Pizza night, barbecues, and movie nights. These are just a few of the many events the dorms hold every week. Monday-Saturday there is bound to be at least 1 dorm event going on. Found one that’s not at your dorm? Head over there anyways and meet some new people!
If you haven’t been to the galleries on campus yet… what are you doing? It’s your opportunity to look at great pieces of artwork. Whether it’s the Poetry Center, School of Art, or the Student Union galleries, spending a relaxing day looking at awesome pieces of artwork is worth it.
We mentioned the galleries, but we can’t forget about the museums. The Center for creative photography, Mineral Museum, The Museum of Art, and the Arizona State Museum are all places to go to and a great way to spend a calm evening.
Every dorm has a lounge where you can go relax and watch t.v. or have some fun and play a game of pool or darts. Feeling musical? Most lounges have pianos as well so you can go play your little heart out.
PARTIES, PARTIES, PARTIES!! It’s a boring Thursday night and you feel like going out. Well, no worries. There are parties to go to every single week. Sing, dance, play beer ping pong… anything can happen. One thing’s for sure, you’re going to have a great night, whether you remember it Friday morning or not.
You live at the University of Arizona, so I don’t have to explain to you how beautiful our campus is. On a sunny day or a cloudy afternoon, it’s hard to stop posting pictures on your Snapchat of all of the beautiful surroundings. Walk from one side of the campus to the other, and maybe you’ll happen to come across some fun and free events.
Never heard of the letterpress lab? That’s a shame. It’s an awesome place where you can go and create your own designs. You can make your own art and print it out to see your creations and designs come to life. How cool is that?!
There are constantly concerts going on here in Tucson. Although the majority of them require you to pay, there are plenty of free music events to attend near The University of Arizona. Even if the artist’s aren’t people you are familiar with, that may be the best part. A free concert and you may have just found your new favorite singer… it’s the best of both worlds!
