If you love travelling and discovering hidden gems, then you need to travel to these underrated cities! You will not be disappointed!

When people go on holiday they always go to the usual places like Ibiza, Dubai or Disney World and theses can get boring after a while. Everyone talks about wanting to go travelling and to see more of the world, so here are 10 underrated cities from my bucket list, some I have been to and a few I haven’t.

1. Vegas 2.0

I’m sure you’ve all heard a thing or two about Bangkok, but it is a city balancing modern society and culture. You can go from having a three course meal in a five star restaurant to having a foot massage for just over £1 in the back ally’s of China town. You can go visit malls, the floating market and sit on a tuk tuk, and don’t forget to try as much street food as possible. Bangok is definitely one of the most underrated cities!

2. The City On Two Continents

Istanbul is one of the most underrated cities in the world, you never realise how much there is to do until you get there. It is a mix of Asian and European culture, one side is full of skyscrapers and the other is more cultural with mosques and museums. Istanbul has survived a violent past and now stands as a city full of colour and love.

3. Concrete Jungle Of South East Asia

Home to the Petronas Twin Towers, one of the worlds tallest buildings, Kuala Lumpur is a city break of dreams. It’s almost like the cheaper and underrated version of New York, especially around the down town area, make sure to go to the Pavilion where fashion shows and major events are held. On the other side are places like China town and Little India as they are more cultural based.

4. Paradise On Earth

Bali might just be the most beautiful place in the world, sure it’s on the other side of the world but it’s worth it. The island is jam packed with things to do, from surfing to elephant rides and peaceful temples to dinner at sunset on a beach. This holiday island was much more exciting than I’d have imagined.

5. Arabian Dream

Abu Dabi is hugely underrated, it’s like a calmer version of Dubai and only an hours drive away from Dubai. The most famous landmark is the mosque which is a beautiful big white mosque where you can go inside to take pictures. You can also visit malls ans the tall buildings there, there is also a spot where you can go to see all the buildings from far, its is surreal. There is so much to do here so it is definitely one of the most underrated cities!

6. Short City Escape

If you want a city closer to home Algarve in Portugal is perfect, with the right mix of city and seaside this is the perfect place to escape for a few days. Make sure to eat as much sea food as you can too and to try the local food, the prices are pretty reasonable.

7. Beach Bliss

Sharm El Sheik is the perfect place to go to relax, enjoy scuba diving in the sea, spa treatments and sunbathing for hours. The main attractions like the markets are just a short taxi trip away from the main stretch of hotels. Only around a 4 hour flight away from England you can drop everything and escape to this little piece of paradise.

8. Canadian Christmas

Toronto is a city I’m yet to visit, but going during Christmas time is on my bucket list. When people think of going on holiday for Christmas it’s usually to either New York, Paris or somewhere really hot like Dubai. I think Toronto would have a lot to offer during Christmas and so would the surrounding cities.

9. Venice Of The North

Amsterdam is another city on my bucket list, it was given the nickname Venice of the north after the canals that run through it. I’m not going to lie, The Fault In Our Stars sold Amsterdam to me, just the thought that anything could happen in this beautiful city. It is definitely underrated with all the rumors and myths about the city. Amsterdam is not only one of the most beautiful cities, it is one of the most underrated cities as well!

10. A Trip Back In Time

Copenhagen has been on my bucket list for a while now, this historical city is the capital of Denmark and less than a two hour flight away from England. It would be great traveling there whilst on a tour of Europe. It has historical buildings, cute cafes and restaurants to visit whilst you’re there.
