The Best Makeup Products To Hide Your Hangover

The ability to flawlessly hide your hangover, is something that all students become total pros at, because no one wants to be asked about the night before!

Hangovers are a staple of student life in the same way as textbooks are. I spent the entirety of my first year look like someone had thrown a bucket of misery over me, and put me in a microwave. The ability to flawlessly hide your hangover is thus something that all students become total pros at, because no one wants to be asked about the night before on the morning after.

But what are the best make up products to use to hide your hangover?

Firstly, it’s important not to resist the urge to cake your make up. Don’t opt for a heavy layer of foundation or shadow, go for something lighter. There’s nothing grimmer than washing off your heavy face from the night before, and then putting it all back on a mere 4 hours later when you stumble on to campus. It’s equally as important to make sure all of your make up is off before heading out for the day. Sounds obvious, but clearly not to me, as I was once informed during a tutorial, that I still had some glitter from the previous night on my face. Make sure the remnants of the night before are hidden before you try to hide the hangover.

Mario Badescu’s seaweed cleansing lotion

This lotion is my first go to when I’m hungover, and all the time. It’s perfect to wash my face with every morning, but particularly after a heavy night. It leaves my face feeling fresh, clean, and completely rejuvenated. It also leaves me with a healthy looking glow, which is the perfect antidote to a lingering heavy foundation or fragments of mascara left lingering.

Nars’s Primer

I simply love this primer. It’s my go-to on holiday because of the amazing SPF 5o, (which as a very pale lady, I adore), and is the perfect way to take you from a sun lounger during the day, to a club during the night, preserving your skin and keeping you looking fresh. It is also a staple of my every day make up routine when I’m on my way to campus, particularly when I’m hungover. It nourishes the skin, leaving you feeling refreshed and clean, which is no easy feat after one too many tequilas.

YSL’s Touchè Eclat

The Touchè Eclat might just be my favourite make up product, ever. I am an advocate for a light, dewy face of makeup, rather than a heavy matte foundation, I just find it doesn’t suit my skin. The Touchè Eclat is easily the perfect way to add a little bit of glow, and to make you look a little bit brighter after a heavy night, in short, the perfect way to hide your hangover. It is beautifully pigmented, creamy and applies really easily, making you look fresh, light and naturally glowing. The hype is totally justified, and if you’re looking to hide a hangover, this should be your first go to.

The Touche Eclat Cushion Compact

You can probably sense my loyalty to YSL make up. It is my absolute favourite brand, it leaves you looking effortlessly radiant and glowing, and while this piece is quite the investment it is well worth it. You can chuck the compact in your bag, so you can primp during the day if need be, it’s the perfect way to ward off dark circles or alcohol spots, it covers enough so that you can hide your hangover, but it’s still light. This is the perfect product to hide your hangover, but not leave you looking like you’re still in last night’s slap.

EOS lip balms

The EOS lip balm is another cult favourite, I find it is the perfect way to sign off the ‘no make up makeup hiding of a hangover’ look. The EOS lip balms leave a slight sheen, but not too much, and make you feel clean and refreshed after a long night.
