3. Merchant Chippie
If we’re talking about Glasgow’s best food stops, the list wouldn’t be complete without a classic fish and chip shop. Adorning the High Street and lit up like a Christmas tree most of the year, Merchant Chippie is truly a testimony to the Scottish people’s love for a takeaway. No, you won’t get any special dishes or Michelin stars, but you will get a classic Scottish dish, served in a traditional takeaway box for you to enjoy on you way home. Every Scots’ dream.
4. Bella Vita
Whether you’re looking for a romantic date spot, somewhere to celebrate with friends, or just an excuse to get out of the house, Bella Vita is your next stop. 5. Finnieston Bar
This is one of the fancier places on the list, but it has a well-deserved spot. Finnieston serve some of the country’s best seafood dishes, which are perfectly complimented by the bar’s award-winning cocktails – featuring gin from their extensive collection. They have a focus on ethically and locally sourced food so you can rest assured your dish will be top quality. If you’ve got a special occasion coming up, Finnieston Bar is worth a visit.
6. The Pot Still
This might not be the first place that comes to mind when you’re looking for food, but alongside their well-established reputation as Glasgow’s best whisky bar, The Pot Still also have some of the city’s finest pies. If you fancy a nice dinner that leads into a delightfully boozy night, this is where to go. That said, it might be where you’ll find Glasgow’s best pub food, but don’t expect it to look like a restaurant!

Another place perfect for a special night out, Chaophraya is a Thai restaurant in the heart of Glasgow that gets consistently good reviews for its food.
