London is a great big city with lots of fun things to do, even after closing hours. It is one of those places that never really sleeps – you can always find something to do at night. We have picked out our favourite 8 adventurous things to do in London after dark – check them out below!

1. Sky Garden at night

You can visit the Sky Garden and enjoy the beautiful London views for free! You can see some of the most incredible evening landscapes from the top floors of this oddly-shaped building. At night, all of the famous London landmarks are lit up, so you can enjoy these stunning views and take some fancy photos. What’s more, you can get a drink and a bite to eat at the sky-high bar.

2. Jack the Ripper Ghost Tour

This one is seriously creepy, so beware. The tour takes you around Whitechapel where the murders allegedly took place. At night, London looks like its old self, so it really feels as though you have been transported into Victorian England. You can discover lots of new things about London that you didn’t know before. All of this costs only £15 for the two hour tour – it’s definitely worth your money if you’re feeling adventurous. Although it is super freaky, it is one of the best adventurous things to do in London!

3. River Thames Dinner Cruise

The River Thames dinner cruise is definitely a bit more fancy but it’s still just as fun as the other activities. For £82 per person, you can experience a romantic date night, which will be the perfect bonding experience. You’ll be mesmerised by the beautiful views of London at night as you sail past famous landmarks that are lit up with incredible installations. Some of the cruises even go as far as Greenwich, so you’ll be able to see all of London in one night.

4. Angel Comedy Club

What can be better than spending your night at a free comedy gig! This famous comedy club has events running every single evening, so you’ll never again find yourself with nothing to do. If you’re feeling thirsty, you could grab a drink or two at the bar below. Located at 2 Camden Walk, the Camden Head pub is definitely going to become your favourite hangout spot. It even has people like James Acaster from Mock the Week perform there!

5. Pub Theatres

There are tons of pub theatres dotted around London and we can guarantee that there is at least one in your local area. My personal favourite is the Old Red Lion – as one of London’s most famous pub theatres, this place will definitely amaze you with its performances. They present emerging theatre talent, so you’ll be one of the first to discover the next big stars. You can find this pub at 418 St John Street.

6. Late Night Shopping

Yet again, London never ceases to impress us – you can go for a late night shopping spree in more than one of its boroughs. All of the Westfield centres are open until after dark, but my personal favourite place to go is Oxford Street. The beautiful night lights will definitely brighten your experience – just be sure not to spend a fortune! With shops open until 10pm on a Thursday, you’ll have plenty of fun exploring the wealth of shops located on Oxford Street.

7. Explore Chinatown

With most shops and restaurants open until midnight, Chinatown is the perfect place to go if you’re feeling adventurous. There are just so many fun places to go that we guarantee you’ll be out all night and will still be wanting more. Even if you’re not really a big fan of Chinese food, you’ll definitely appreciate the incredible variety of edible and inedible items available for purchase. You can try authentic Chinese buns and other delicious delicacies that you won’t be able to find anywhere else.

It’s definitely not just for children – they’ve got plenty of oddities that will intrigue even the most serious of people. If you’re feeling particularly adventurous, you can attend a champagne tour for an extra £8 per person – this way you’ll definitely have a fun time exploring Ripley’s exhibitions. It’s really interactive, so you’ll be entertained for hours on end. This is definitely one of the adventurous things to do in London you won’t regret doing!
