7 Things You Only Understand If You Live in Manzanita Hall at ASU
Manzanita Hall is a dorm residence hall made in the late 1960s, which recently in 2011 they made renovations to and opened up for students in 2013. It is on the northern side of campus, right across the Sun Devil football stadium. Keep reading ahead for 7 things you only understand if you live or have ever lived in Manzanita Hall at ASU!
1. You know how awful the Dining Hall food is.
Since Manzanita was re-done, they decided to build in a dining hall so students can come downstairs and eat at any hour of the day. Unfortunately, if you ever lived in Manzanita Hall, you know how awful the food is. The D-hall meals are pretty much the worst thing on the planet. So heads up if you’re freshmen about to move in to Manzy, you might want to stock up your mini fridge with hot pockets and pizza rolls.
2. You are so used to the fire alarm going off all the time.
The fire alarm literally goes off at least twice a week. It`s a pain trying to evacuate the building with hundreds of students trying to get out at the same time. It especially sucks if you’re on the fifteenth floor and having to walk down fifteen flights of stairs to evacuate the building.
3. Saying the Wifi is slower than a tortoise is an understatement.
If you have an assignment due at 11:59, you know you had to make sure to turn it in by 11:30 latest. The wifi is slower than a tortoise, even that is somewhat of an understatement on how slow the wifi is.
4. Manzanita’s serious elevator issues.
There are only 4 elevators in Manzanita, but 800 students. Doesn’t make sense right…
5. It’s always loud…and there is always a strobe light…
You live in Manzanita Hall. One of the biggest dormitories at Arizona State with 800 other freshmen students. It’s always loud and someone always has the strobe lights on.
6. You are in close proximity to football games and Mill Avenue!
Great part of living in manzy is your right across the football stadium and if you walk five minutes down the street, you’re at the mill avenue where they have hooters, five guys, and urban outfitters.
7. Manzy is still the best dorm on campus!
Manzy for the win! Yeah the dining hall sucks but you know Manzy is the greatest dorm on campus.
