These Are The Beverages To Avoid If You Want Clear Skin

Taking care of your skin does just stop at skincare. Keeping a healthy wholesome diet is another huge step to getting the beautiful skin you want. Avoiding high intake of sugar will go miles to getting healthy and glowing skin, but there are many things out there with hidden sugar levels that can sabotage your skin. Here are the beverages to avoid for the sake of your skin health!

Red Bull

This sugary energy drink is not only chock full of caffeine that will have you bouncing off the walls all night long, it is also heavy in sugar. With a whopping 11 grams of sugar per 100ml, and in just a standard 80 gram can of Red Bull you would be getting 27.5 grams of sugar; this means up to almost 35% of what you are drinking in a can of Red Bull is sugar. Such concentrated sugar intake can be a huge contributor to acne on your skin, so if you suffer from breakouts, take a look at the sugar content in what you might be drinking.

Old Jamaica Ginger Beer Extra Fiery

The recent implementation of the sugar tax in the UK has this drink listed as the highest sugar content. Containing 15.7 grams of sugar per 100ml, this one is definitely one you’ll want to stay away from for the sake of your skin health. The NHS recommends that adults cap their daily sugar intake at 30 grams while a can of Old Jamaica Ginger Beer Extra Fiery totaling at 330ml has a 36.11 grams of sugar.

Coca Cola

For those loyal Coca Cola drinkers out there, this one must be a difficult one to cut. But with 10.6 gram of sugar per 100ml, you might want to reconsider for the sake of your skin health. High sugar intake is prone to spike hormones in the body that regulate the production of acne, not to mention that excessive sugar intake is the number one cause of obesity and metabolic diseases such as diabetes.

Mountain Dew

Yet another soft drink that is chock full of sugar that not only do you not need nutritionally, but that is detrimental to the health of your skin and your body. Reaching 13 grams per 100ml, this one is another one to stay away from for your skin health! In order to preserve your skin, and get that glowy, smooth, beautiful, and healthy skin, be sure to take a look at the amount of sugar in your day-to-day drinks.
