The Best Ways To Wear A Bandanna And Look Great

There are so many ways to wear a bandanna! Recently this hair accessory has been trending all over social media. It’s a cheap and easy way to spice up your outfit or add a pop of color! Here’s a list of our top ways to wear a bandanna this season!

Hair-Tie

Stores like Urban Outfitters and Free People have started selling bandanna scrunchies! Use it in your ponytail or a half-up half-down with a bun. This look would be super cute paired with a sundress or even a sweater and jeans! This is one of my favorite ways to wear a bandanna in the summertime!  The best part is, you can find a color or patterned bandanna that matches with just about anything!

Knotted Headband

When most people think about wearing a bandanna they think of wearing it as a headband. Since it holds your hair back little effort, it’s both functional and super stylish! Sometimes, wearing your hair the same every day can leave you feeling bored and wanting to try something new. This style is extremely versatile and works with straight, curly, wavy, short, and long hair!

High Bun

Another hair idea is tying your hair up into a bun, you can totally wear it messy if you want to! Jennifer Lopez has been seen wearing this style and she looks amazing while doing it! Since we have the J-Lo stamp of approval, this is totally trendy and fashion-forward! It is so simple, you just tie your hair up and wrap the bandanna around it as your hair tie! Using colorful bandannas for this look is the best since it will stand out against your hair color!

Knotted Necklace

This has to be one of my favorite ways to wear a bandanna! The knotted necklace is the perfect summer look for a casual day out. Pair this with a basic white tee and denim shorts, you will give off the summer vibe. If you decide to wear this look, keep all your other accessories like earrings, bracelets, and necklaces very minimal so there isn’t too much going on. Also, this is a great and simple look if you are going to a country concert or even a music festival!

The Triangular Look

This look is similar to the choker look, but it has a different fold and tie to it. You fold the bandanna into a triangle and take the two small ends and tie them behind your neck. Many celebrities and influencers have been caught rocking this look, my personal favorite is when Lauren Bushnell was seen rocking this look at her hubby Chris Lane’s concert. She wore it with an oversized sweatshirt dress and knee-high boots, what a cute combo! Pair this with a basic color and it will for sure pop! This is for sure one of my favorite ways to wear a bandanna!

The Choker

The choker style is definitely the most trendy way to rock a bandanna right now. When wearing a basic white or black top, pairing it with a bright red bandanna will immediately turn it into a statement piece. Wearing this look with a denim jacket is also a great way to look casual and stylish effortlessly. For this look, I would personally use a red, black, or white bandanna since they are basic and easy colors to match and it is such one of the trendiest ways to wear a bandanna!

Around a Bag

Sometimes wearing it in your hair or around your neck could be too much if you are a more neutral and simple dresser. This look is more low key but still incorporates the bandanna trend. If you have a plain purse and want some added color, a bandanna could brighten it up. This is the perfect way to incorporate the bandanna into your overall look. My favorite bag to pair this with is a straw circle bag, it is such a cute summer look.

On a Belt Loop

Sometimes, the classic denim can get boring and this style can help with that! I have worn this look many times going out, to a concert, and even walking around Boston over the summer. It is so simple, you just tie a bandanna around your belt loop and you’re done! Another idea is wearing the bandanna as a full belt! If you opt for wearing it as a full belt, you can also tie it around the waist of a jumpsuit or romper giving it more style and uniqueness!

As a Shirt

Make sure you buy an X-large bandanna for this one because the small bandannas won’t be comfortable for this look! Wearing a bandanna as a shirt is an extremely cheap and easy way to look cute going out or heading to the beach this summer. This would be a super cute look as a bathing suit cover-up! You can tie the bandanna anyway to make it into a shirt. It can be turned into a tube top, a halter top, or even a bandeau!

Bracelet or Anklet

If you’re going to a festival or a concert, consider this look! You can manipulate the bandanna into any form and make it look as messy or clean as you want by pulling pieces out. Then, wrap it around your ankle or wrist and give it a knot! This looks so stylish and trendy in Instagram posts as well! It will surely impress your friends and many other people! By wearing the bandanna like this, it gives you so many style points!
