Despite being in the title of one of the most famous love stories of all time, Sleepless in Seattle, Seattle doesn’t have a reputation of being a romantic city. Well, I’m here to fix that! Here are fifteen romantic Seattle date night ideas for you to treat your significant other to right now. 

1. Argosy Cruises 

What’s more romantic than a yacht? Since renting out an entire boat would be expensive, and you’re not ready to take your bae on a week-long cruise, check out Argosy Cruises. Enjoy a beautiful one hour boat ride on this gorgeous yachts. You can sip a glass of wine as you watch the sun lower behind the city skyline.

2. Optimism Bar 

The most important ingredient to any date is optimism, remind your date of this by taking them to the optimism brewpub in Capitol Hill. The beer is great, games are fun and the ambiance is cheerful and bright. It is impossible not to have fun at this bar. 

3. Lake Washington 

Swimming is a great date idea for anyone who lives anywhere. You get to splash around in the water, wear a cute bathing suit and cuddle up together to dry off. Now, swimming in Seattle is a fantastic date night idea, especially at Lake Washington. This beautiful park has a huge lake for you to swim in, and a dock in the middle to jump off of. The Seattle boardwalk has a lot to offer couples looking for a fun date night. However, if you go inside Minors Landing and walk all the way to the back you may find a hidden treasure. This old carnival section has a huge gumball machine, enchanting carousel and a little bit creepy carnival game set up (I don’t like the way that bear looks at me.) Take a break from the hustle and bustle of Seattle and enjoy this mini carnival. 

5. 5th Avenue Theatre 

The 5th Avenue Theatre is a great way to get out of the house and experience some culture in Seattle. The shows are always amazing, the theatre itself is a work of art and this is a great reason to wear your new heels because everyone dresses up when they go to the 5th Avenue Theatre.

6. The Raygun Lounge 

The Raygun Lounge is a very casual Seattle Date night, but it is also a lot of fun. Vintage pinball games, board games for you to rent and beer on tap can all be found inside this little hole in the wall on Pine Street. The only game you can’t play here is strip poker.

7. Dancing 

Of course, there is dancing in Seattle! If you’re looking to get a little bit closer or to show off your killer dance moves, head over to Monkey Lofy, Emerald City Soul Club and Havana to get your groove thing on. 

8. Fancy Dinner 

Seattle is known for food! From shellfish to a good piece of steak you can find it all in the Emerald City. Shukers, Vitos, The Pink Door, and Elliots have some of the best romantic ambiances in all of Seattle.

9. Put Some Dick’s In Your Body

Calm down, I’m talking about Dick’s drive-in. Seattle’s very own bit of history Dick’s is the original McDonalds before it was bought out and turned into the Yellow M we all know now! It’s worth a try because this is a dish you can only get in Seattle.

Make it a traditional Seattle date night by taking your lover to the Seattle Space Needle! Enjoy the food and the fact that you live in a city that is lucky enough to have this, we take it for granted, but there is a reason it’s on every single key chain.

11. China Town 

China Town is a great Seattle date night if you’re looking for great food! Dumpling houses and more can be found on every single street corner. Make sure you save room for dessert though, there are little bakery nestled into small spaces all over China Town. 

12. Desserts 

If you’re not looking to go out and have an entire dinner, try just going out for a little treat. Seattle has so many great dessert places. Your Seattle date night might start with you cooking dinner but end with you getting something chocolate covered. Yum!

13. The Crab Shack 

Romantic dinners are great, but if you’re looking for a dinner that is less about candle lights and passion and instead you want a dinner that has a little more entertainment value to it then head to The Crab Shack. Located in Minors Landing on the boardwalk, The Crab Shack offers great shellfish and you get to crack them open with tiny hammers. This way you can work out any pent up aggression you may have on your dinner instead of your date.

14. Seattle Troll Bridge 

If your significant other loves fantasy, trolls, Heath Ledger or just cool shit, then the Seattle Troll Bridge is the perfect Seattle date night for them. Not only is this bridge very cool and overwhelmingly interesting, but it is also from the classic 1999 Heather Ledger romantic comedy, 10 Things I Hate About You. This creepy troll has romance painted all over it.    

15. Admiral Theater

Take it back to the original date night, take your bae out for a Seattle date night at the Admiral Theatre in West Seattle. The Admiral Theatre isn’t just a theatre, it’s a boat themed theatre. With pier’s instead of screening rooms and beautiful paintings of old timely sailors, this theatre is a lot of fun even if you don’t see a movie.
