Pumpkin Carving Ideas That’ll Wow Your Trick Or Treaters

One of our favorite Halloween activities is pumpkin carving! There is nothing better than going to the pumpkin patch, picking out a nice, round pumpkin and then taking it home for carving. Aside from putting together our costumes, carving pumpkins is a creative way to express our joy over this spooky holiday. Getting to decide what will go on our pumpkin each year can be difficult given all the choices that are out there. The good news is that there is something out there for every pumpkin carver to try their knife at and we are here to help. Here are 8 awesome pumpkin carving ideas that’ll wow your trick-or-treaters this year!

1. Pac-Man Pumpkin

This is the perfect pumpkin carving idea for the nostalgic gamer in your life! The shapes are simple enough for even a young gamer to carve. Though simple, this pumpkin will not only  bring smiles to the trick-or-treaters at your door, but it might even crack a smirk from their parents!

2. Disney Mania

With so many little kids coming to your door on Halloween night, there is no better way to decorate your front door than with an array of Disney pumpkins. Pick your favorite character, follow the template, and carve! Everyone will enjoy their favorite Disney characters come to life as they illuminate the walkway to some delicious candy!

3. Cat Lover

For those of  us who love our feline friends, why not pay homage to them with this cute pumpkin carving idea? The shapes on this cat are not too difficult to carve, but they are delicate so use one of your smaller carving tools for this baby. You can buy a smaller pumpkin that could carve the ears and feet from to truly make this the cutest pumpkin you have ever seen!

4. Horror Nights

If you want to keep in the Halloween spirit and spook some of the trick-or-treaters, try one of these scary templates! The design on some of these pumpkins is more intricate and time-consuming, but the overall result will be worth it. From skulls, to rats, to spiders, and even haunted houses; your house is bound to be known as the scariest one in town with a variety of scary jack-o-lanterns to scare the living daylights out of you!

5. The “Wow” Factor

If you want to take your pumpkin carving to a whole other level, try your hand at these beautifully-crafted and intricate designs. While these pumpkins will require patience, time, and maybe even a few tries, the end result will have all the trick-or-treaters and their parents  “ooohing” and “awwing” as they pass by your house. You can even bring these elegant pumpkins to your table and use them as centerpieces for your Halloween feast. We love a versatile centerpiece, don’t you?

6. Funny Jack-O-Lanterns

Keep the neighborhood kids laughing with your take on some funny pumpkin scenarios. Our favorite is the drunk trio which shows one pumpkin throwing up its guts–literally! Add a few empty cans of beer for some extra laughs. We have a feeling the parents will enjoy this one more than the kids! This is one of our favorite pumpkin carving ideas!

Whether it is Harry Potter or Stranger Things, trick-or-treaters will delight in seeing their favorite films and series depicted on a pumpkin. You might even find that some of the characters have come to trick-or-treat at your door. Wouldn’t  that be a fun surprise?

8. Kid Friendly Fun

Who is pumpkin carving meant for if not for little kids? Well, it can be! If you have little ones dying to join in on the fun, but they are too small to actually handle a knife, don’t you worry! There are plenty of ideas for them to try including painting and decorating with googly eyes. No one has to miss out on the fun this Halloween! This is one of the best pumpkin carving ideas!
