Naked yoga is a very strange and new practice of yoga without clothes (so literally in your birthday suit). Many people do this at home or outside on their backyard, but there are some that do this in group classes. Apparently this is gaining popularity in societies where it is considered more normal and comfortable with social nudity. Here are our feelings about naked yoga.
Naked yoga can actually be kind of sexy if you do it privately or even with a significant other. I mean it can definitely spice things up seeing one another doing certain poses and getting all sweaty while being super close to each other. Think of it as like a Rated R game of Twister! Even if you practice this on your own it can get yourself more comfortable with your own sexuality and body image! You are forced to look at yourself and think, “hey, I am one sexy person who looks great and can rock this yoga thing”. So go on and work it like never before…in the nude. You may even turn yourself or your partner on most likely haha!
Some of those people especially feminists may find this practice liberating since you are literally forced to be comfortable with your body in public or even when doing this in private. There is no shame in showing your God given body right? You just have to work it and use what your mama gave ya! This practice has a purpose for some people, and to some it is a way of appreciating the human body and getting a nice workout at the end of it as well. Plus, the growing feminist views may see this as a positive thing where women can show off their body without feeling ashamed or being sexualized if it is done by everyone. It may simply be a new kind of “free the nipple” kind of movement…to the extreme.
The majority of people may find this practice of naked yoga simply weird. It is not normal to be naked in public even if it is a class full of people doing the same thing. Hey, do what you want, just do it privately in your bedroom! After all, you simply don’t see people walking around naked everyday in public so maybe it is not a good idea. This is also not a nudist society so how do you find a place to practice naked yoga anyway?! Well apparently there are plenty of these secret naked yoga societies laying around and you can totally just look them up! Kinda weird… but hey no judgement!
Some people don’t have a problem with naked yoga at all. After all it is just yoga without clothes, so what is the big deal? It can actually be quite refreshing for some since you don’t have to get all of your clothes sweaty! Plus people back in the day didn’t even have or wear clothes so why do we wear them now? If everyone in a naked yoga class is doing it, then it must be okay right? Therefore on the bright side, you are just conforming to the particular situation, not sweating as much, getting comfortable with your own body, and just having a good time!
