10 Movies Coming To Theaters This Summer You Won’t Want To Miss

Summer 2018 is quickly approaching and with it comes one of the best times of year for movie-lovers: summer blockbusters! Here are 10 movies coming to theaters this summer that should definitely not be missed.

10. Life of the Party

Comedy queen Melissa McCarthy is back in her upcoming film “Life of the Party.” McCarthy stars as a mother who decides to press reset and head back to school to get the college experience –  but it just happens to be the same college her daughter attends. It hits theaters May 11.

9. The First Purge

While it may be the fourth movie in the “Purge” franchise, this one is taking audiences back in time to experience how the first annual Purge came to be. This is a must for horror lovers and seems to be a reflection on politics and society with a bunch of fun scares and terror thrown in. “The First Purge” his theaters July 4.

8. Deadpool 2

Ryan Reynold’s comedic superhero is back and better than ever. This time around, Deadpool will assemble his own team of avengers to save the day, and of course, do what he does best: break the fourth wall and talk to the audience. “Deadpool 2” hits theaters May 18.

7. Solo: A Star Wars Story

Alden Ehrenreich is taking over as Harrison Ford’s iconic “Star Wars” role in a prequel that will explore how Han Solo came to be the notorious general we all know and love. The newest addition to the space franchise also stars Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian and Emilia Clarke as Han’s pre-Leia girlfriend. And of course, we’ll see Chewbacca. “Solo: A Star Wars Story” hits theaters May 25.

6. Overboard

This gender-bent remake of the 1970’s now stars Anna Farris as a mistreated employee who gets her revenge on a wealthy, yacht-owning playboy. After he gets in an accident and loses his memory, Farris’ character convinces him that they’re married. “Overboard” hits theaters May 4.

5. Christopher Robbin

Ewan McGregor stars as Christopher Robbin from the “Winnie the Pooh” series. He’s all grown up and has lost all his imagination from his childhood. But Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore and more of his childhood friends aren’t giving up on him yet! “Christopher Robin” hits theaters August 3.

4. Hereditary

The movies follows an artist and mother, played by Toni Collette, whose mother’s death not only brings up unspeakable hidden secrets, but plunges her family into a world of nightmares. Considering it’s made by the same production company behind “The Witch” and “It Comes At Night,” it’s guaranteed this will be the stuff of nightmares. “Hereditary” hits theaters June 8.

3. Oceans’ 8

Another gender-bent film, “Ocean’s 8” takes its own spin on the “Ocean’s” film series. This time, though, with an all-female cast that couldn’t be any more perfect: Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Mindy Kaling, Rihanna, Sarah Paulson, Helena Bonham Carter and Awkwafina. Yes, it’s a must. “Ocean’s 8” hits theaters June 8.

2. Avengers: Infinity War

While it comes out a little earlier than the others, there is no doubt the next “Avengers” film will be a must for movie-goers for weeks and months to come. After all, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has ben preparing for this one for over 10 years now. This is the most ambitious comic book movie yet and should not be missed. “Avengers: Infinity War” hits theaters April 27.

1. Incredibles 2

The long-awaited and highly anticipated sequel to Disney and Pixar’s “The Incredibles” is finally here, and despite the decade-long wait, it picks up right where the original left off. Except, this time, Elastigirl is leading the fight against the bad guys, while Mr. Incredible plays the stay-at-home-dad, and he isn’t too thrilled. “Incredibles 2” hits theaters June 15.
