1. About

The land portion of the festival includes educational programming, experiences, and entertainment. The festival is handicap accessible. There are self-guided timed tours of the ships.

There will be food available for purchase and no outside food is allowed. Be sure to wear comfortable clothing and footwear. Animals are not allowed unless they are certified service animals. Bags will be checked upon entrance.

2. Schedule

The Sail Philadelphia event will take place from May 24-28, 2018. The festival is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day. There are timed tours of the ships, and if you choose to do multiple of these, leave an hour between each ship to allow time to walk to each ship.

3. Ships

There will be a total of 12 ships sailing into Penn’s Landing from various locations. Some are for self-guided tours while others have the option of sailing. They will be available for the viewing pleasure of festival goers, though spectators cannot get on without tickets. 4. Location

Ships will be docked along Penn’s Landing from Market Street to the end of the Penn’s Landing Marina. The festival portion is located at the Great Plaza at Penn’s Landing Blue Cross RiverRink Summerfest and Spruce Street Harbor Park Sustained by Univest. The entrance to the festival is in front of the Independence Seaport Museum.

5. Getting There

Parking is limited at Penn’s Landing, so public transportation is your best bet. The festival is a short walk from bus routes, regional rail at Jefferson and Suburban stations, and the subway. Taking the Phlash bus is another option, as is catching a taxi, Uber, or Lyft.

6. Tickets

General admission to the festival portion of the event is $7 and there is no student discount. If you want to sail on a ship, the festival admission is included for the same day. Festival general admission includes same-day admission to the Independence Seaport Museum. Tickets are non-refundable. Ship tours are available as well. Leave time between each tour to allow time to get to each ship. If you choose a sail-away, festival admission, as well as admission to the Independence Seaport Museum, is included.
