Memorial Day is nothing short of an emotional American holiday. Each year, on the last Monday of May, we dedicate a full day to remembering and honoring the fallen men and women who gave their lives to protect and serve the country they love.
In a way to show how much we love for our country and respect the sacrifice of soldiers who passed away fighting for it, we decorate around our homes, cars, and dress up with anything resembling the red, white and blue to in a way and show our patriotism. We all love to maintain a luscious green lawn, but on Memorial Day, let your land represent the country our fallen heroes risked it all to protect.
Your Memorial Day decor should start with a star spangled front lawn. Purchase some red, white and blue spray paint from a local hardware store, use some large star shaped stencils and get to spraying away. If you really wanted to go full send USA, you could even spray a good ole American flag!
2. Red, White And Blue Paper Chains
Do it yourself Memorial Day decor doesn’t have to be so laborious. Sometimes the simplest things can make for a quality decorations around the house, and it might not get any more simple than a red, white and blue paper chain!
All you’ll need for this is a pair of scissors, some tape and some sheets of construction paper to make some paper hoops you can link together and hang outside to make the place look a little more patriotic.
3. Tin Can Windsocks
Another good idea for Memorial Day decor are some simple tin can windsocks. Coat the cans with some blue paint and let them dry before painting or sticking on some white stars. You’ll then want to poke some holes through the bottom and sneak some string through so the windsocks can be hung up later.
