All the while, Rory begins her school year at a new prep school, facing the classic mean-girls and romance woes. 2. Brooklyn-99

If you’re looking for a care-free show that will give you a good laugh, this is it. The main character, Detective Jake Peralta, is a talented but immature cop, who has never had to follow the rules or work too hard to achieve the best arrest record in the precinct. That is until the new captain arrives. Captain Raymond Holt is a no-nonsense leader, who has his own ~flare~. Not to mention Peralta’s extremely competitive college, Amy Santiago, and their ongoing bet to see who can make the most arrests. And there’s no way you can forget about best friend Detective Charles Boyle, a self-proclaimed food connoisseur who idolizes Jake. Other members of the precinct include Sargent Terry Jeffords, a family man played by Terry Cruz, Rosa Diaz, one of the most intimidating people ever, and office manager Gina Linetti, who simultaneously cleans up everybody’s messes by getting involved in everyone’s business. An absolutely perfect binge-worthy show. (Found on NBC, Hulu, and YouTube TV).

5. Dexter

The best American crime drama. I said it. Set in Miami, protagonist Dexter Morgan is a forensic technician who specializes in bloodstain pattern analysis for the Miami Metro Police Department who harbors one secret: he’s a serial killer, hunting down the murderers that the police have failed to catch. Orphaned as a young boy, Dexter was adopted by Miami police officer Harry Morgan. Upon realizing Dexter’s sociopathic tendencies, Harry taught Dexter to channel his anger and bloodlust into catching the bad guy, only killing the worst or the worst. While it may be a tad gruesome, watching Dexter navigate his double life and pretend to feel ‘normal’ emotions (through hilarious narration) is something you can’t tear yourself away from. (Found on Netflix).

6. The Crown

This Golden Globe winner and historical drama will teach you so many things you thought you already knew by looking through a new lens at the life and reign of Queen Elizabeth II. Beginning with the marriage of Queen Elizabeth and Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, followed by the dramatic life and tumultuous engagement of Princess Margret, the first season will have you hooked. The Crown shows the Queen facing numerous challenges and threats. You’ll fall in love with the poise and realness of royal life, and you have 5 seasons to keep you occupied. This is a must-watch. 7. The Good Place

If you’re feeling philosophical, and in need of a good laugh, this is the show for you. The Good Place is an American comedy series created by Michael Schur (also known as the creator of The Office, Parks and Recreation, and Brooklyn 99, ever heard of him?!). The series focuses on Eleanor Shellstrop, played by Kristen Bell, who dies and is welcomed into “The Good Place” by afterlife architect Michael, played by Ted Danson. “The Good Place” is a highly selective place to be, designed as a reward for living a righteous, virtuous, and selfless life. However, Eleanor did not lead any such life. After realizing she was put there by mistake, she recruits the help of an ethics professor and moral philosopher, Chidi. Attempting to teach Eleanor ethics so she isn’t removed from “The Good Place”, Eleanor and Chidi have their work cut out for them. Other residents of the neighborhood include Tahani, a pompous socialite, Jason, a monk (or maybe just a guy from Jacksonville), and Janet, an all-knowing not-girl guide. (Found on Hulu and Netflix).
