The Best Jobs To Have In College You Need To Know About

I think one of the hardest things about being in college is the workload. It can make it very difficult to hold a job at the same time. You really need a job that is not only flexible but won’t feel too demanding. When you’re in school having a job at the same time can seem impossible, but I’m gonna tell you about the best jobs you can have while in college down below.

1. Babysitter

I personally have babysitter as the top of the list because ever since I started babysitting I just can’t imagine another job to have in college. I love being able to do my homework at work of course depending on the family your working with. As soon as I finish running errands for the household I have like an hour to pull out my laptop and catch up on my assignments. Plus I just feel it’s soo stressful when I’m working a shift dreading about the amount of homework and studying I need to do afterward. It can make me soo tired sometimes I don’t do it which I feel we all know is really bad when we allow our work to build up. Make an account on care.com or sittercity to find the best possible jobs or ask around.

2. Cashier Now

This isn’t necessarily a favorite but it gives you the money you need and the hours are flexible. I’ve never worked in a grocery store that didn’t accommodate with my schedule. They always put up with a lot, so let’s say if you need to call out of work to study for an examine most of the time they’ll be understanding. Grocery stores especially are very understanding since they always deal with high school or college students. Plus due to the fact that you’ll be meeting soo many college students, it gives you a chance to make a lot of friends.

3. Freelance

This isn’t the easy job to get tbh. This is something I’ve thought out about swinging for a while and am determined to have on the side. People will pay you to do things that you’re skilled in. I had a friend who sold art pieces. I once got paid like $25 to write a script for a friend in class and it wasn’t that much work and I got $25 for it. I knew a guy who used to get paid $80 to write papers for people. Now, this isn’t always the case with freelance. You can write for blogs occasionally which is what I strive to do, make artwork and sell it. I knew a guy who got paid a ridiculous amount to do voiceovers like $1,000 sometimes. So if you have a skill see what you can do with it, even start your own tutoring business.

4. National Guard

This is kind of a job, but I understand how this isn’t for everyone. So don’t think I’m super pro-military or anything like that I’m not pressuring you to join the army. The reason I list this is cause I wish I chose to do something like this before I started college. Do your research cause it is a big commitment, but I know if you qualify for the benefits you can literally get paid to go to school, and they’ll pay for your college and etc. You’re not going away for years and years only a couple months for training. Just remember its not for everyone but it can keep you financially stable if you budget while you’re in school.

5. Housekeeper

This is a pretty good job to have in college if you don’t mind cleaning peoples homes. You could get a good amount of money in a short amount of time. I used to clean my grandma’s house for $50 here and there and even her friend’s house for $40 and I barely did any cleaning just mopping vacuuming and like wiping the counters. I recommend you put up flyers in like old folks homes, those are normally where you find people who have trouble cleaning and need the help. Although you can also make an account on sittercity and care.com and not only find babysitting opportunities, housekeeper jobs, and even tutoring.

6. Dogwalker

I personally haven’t found a job in this department just cause it doesn’t exactly pay that much for what I need. I do know that if you get more than one dog walking job it can add up to a good amount of money in a short amount of time. So you can imagine how easy it would be to manage school doing this cause you’d probably be working for only a 1hour or 2 max a day. You can make a profile on sitter city or care.com as well for this and find some good positions, even dog or cat sitting where you watch their animal for a few hours at their house or even overnight.

7. Working in school

I’ve seen these kinds of jobs around but I know that you need to jump on them or else you’ll miss your shot. I’m pretty sure you’ve seen people around your age working in the cafeteria, we have a Starbucks at my campus and they always have 2 or 3 students working at a time. I’ve even seen many college students answering phones in the office. It’s always something to look into just ask around.
