5 Top Lip Sync Battles That You’ll Totally Obsess Over

These are some of the top lip sync battles where actors and singers coming together to rival each other for a lip syncing competition. Prepare to be amazed!

I. LOVE. LIP. SYNC. BATTLES!  Ever since the first season in 2015, celebrities of every realm have come to the arena with their favorite songs in hand, ready to battle their opponent to see who’s the best!  From the loveable hosts, LL Cool J and Chrissy Teigen, to the Broadway level performances that the celebs give, I can’t stop watching them.  If you are new to the world of LSB, don’t worry- here’s a list of my all-time top lip sync battles and who, in my opinion, conquered the other.

1.) Joseph Gordon-Levitt v. Anthony Mackie

Even though these performances seem like polar opposites, both the actors gave it their all with stunning performances.  Anthony Mackie picked the MC Hammer song “Too Legit To Quit”, and I can’t quit watching it!  With support from his back-up dancers to the costume changes, Mackie killed his performance.  Levitt, on the other hand, went with a Janice Jackson legend, “Rhythm Nation”.  Complete with the combat uniform and the SPOT ON dance moves direct from the music video, he was in it to win it!

Winner: Joseph Gordon-Levitt!

Even though Mackie was right on his heels when it came to being a crowd pleaser, the preciseness of the choreography in Levitt’s dance could not have been easy. Given that, the actor did it anyway and rocked it!  Job well done Joseph!

2.) The Fifth Harmony Girls

It only seems fair that Fifth Harmony would get their own episode to battle each other, and what a diverse show this was!  All of the girls brought their talents to the table in unique ways.  Lauren Jauregui portrayed Amy Winehouse with the song “Rehab” which had me doing double take to make sure that that wasn’t Amy on stage herself!  Ally Brookes started with an emotional Spanish operatic piece “Como La Flor” before transitioning into JLo for her hit song “On the Floor”.  Dinah Jane took the Disney route with hers by channeling Dwayne Johnson for his song “You’re Welcome” from the movie Moana complete with a muscle suit and a tropical backdrop!  Lastly, Normani Kordei brought us back to our ’90s feels with “Bootylicious” by Destiny’s Child, and, to speak frankly, the performance was in fact “bootylicious”! This is one of our favorite top lip sync battles.

Winner: Ally Brookes!

Even though all the girls rocked it, Ally’s performance from start to finish had my jaw dropped!  From the elegant beginning Spanish opera in a gorgeous ballgown to dropping it low on the floor in a sequence leotard, Ally deserved the win.

3.) Michael Bolton v. Pete Davidson

This was no ordinary battle, let me tell you that.  Both of the actors took a more comedic sense to their song selection which they both pulled off!  Michael Bolton chose Coolio’s “Gangster Paradise” which showed him going through his every day life, and by “everyday life”, I mean business women twerking on him at his front step, kids flicking him off and gangs of yoga moms with babies.  Hilarious!  Pete Davidson continued this trend by choosing “Jack Sparrow” a Lonely Island classic!  The club hit gone Pirates of the Caribbean had Davidson dressed by Sparrow himself, and he even had Bolton come on stage to sing his own parts in the song!  It’s safe to say that he knocked this SNL classic out of the park. This is one of the most epic of the top lip sync battles.

While Bolton gave him a hilarious run for his money, this SNL throwback and Pete’s performance had everyone in the crowd singing along, including Bolton himself.  I think this is just a sign that the Lonely Island should get back together!

4.) Zendaya v. Tom Holland

I’ve probably watched this battle hundreds of times because these young stars are just so freaking talented!  Zendaya SLAYED her performance of “24K Magic” as she channeled Bruno Mars, complete with his red silk get up and his sweet dance moves.  Zendaya’s swagger throughout the whole thing combined with an airplane entrance and confetti cannons at the end made an outstanding performance.  Tom Holland chose to start with a Broadway classic, “Singing in the Rain” which quickly transitioned to Rihanna’s “Umbrella”!  I don’t know if it was his dance moves or his leather get up with fish net stockings that blew me away, whatever it was, the boy came to slay! This is one of the most spot on top lip sync battles.

Winner: Tom Holland

Zendaya truly did an amazing job, but I have to give this win to Tom!  Showcasing three different types of dance (Broadway, hip-hop, and break dancing) in his performance really showed how wide his range of talent is, and I am just left wanting more!  Maybe the next Spiderman movie can have a dance battle?

5.) Jenna Dewan and Channing Tatum

Even though the couple has separated since this episode aired (try to hold back the tears!), both Dewan and Tatum gave impressive performances.  Dewan decided to troll her once-then hubby for his stripper day in “Magic Mike” by giving a hip-hop, strip tease inspired performance of Ginuwine’s “Pony”!  Let me put it this way: the girl can DANCE!  Tatum fired back with a powerful performance of Beyoncé’s “Run the World (Girls)”, complete with a surprise visit from Queen B herself!  This one was probably the toughest to choose a winner from, and with good reason!

Winner: Jenna Dewan!

Sorry Channing and Bey, but I have to give this one to Jenna!  She is such a skilled dancer, and it definitely showed through her routine.  Also, the song choice could not have been more perfect!  I was captured in every second and my only complaint was that it wasn’t long enough!

There you have it!  My top picks!  Check out these performances and so many more terrific ones on Lip Sync Battle!
