Apple cider vinegar (or ACV) is a super food – it can be used for all parts of the body’s well being, from digestion to clear skin. There are six reasons in particular that prove you NEED apple cider vinegar in your life…and luckily, it’s incredibly easy to incorporate this magical liquid into your daily routine to look and feel better almost effortlessly!

1. It gives you glorious, shiny hair.

Hair looking a little dull these days? Has it seemed to have lost its luster and shine? Looks like you might need apple cider vinegar to come to the rescue. ACV will balance the pH of the hair and scalp, which alleviates dryness and itchiness, especially in the cold winter weather. Beyond this, the acidity will seal the cuticle, helping to retain moisture and fend off split ends. Dilute a splash of ACV with water, massage into hair after shampooing, and rinse.

2. It’s an acne antidote.

Like with the hair, apple cider vinegar will also help to balance the pH of the skin with its acidic and antibacterial properties. This means ACV is the perfect remedy for acne that may be infected, itchy, irritated or flaky. To apply, mix 3 tablespoons of ACV with a cup of water and apply to affected areas with a cotton ball. Be careful though, too much apple cider vinegar can irritate the skin more.

3. It improves your overall health.

ACV has been known to aid the immune and lymphatic system in ‘cleansing’ themselves. If you have a sore throat, try gargling some apple cider vinegar to help the pain. ACV will also break down mucus, which is great for sinus infections and the lymphatic system in general.

6. It can aid in weight loss.

Similar to why apple cider vinegar is a good energy booster, ACV helps speed up digestion time, reducing the amount of time food, especially fats, are spent in the digestive tract. A tasty recipe I use to get my daily dose of ACV is 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar, 4 tablespoons of cranberry juice, and 2 cups of water.
