15 DIY Facial And Lip Scrubs You Can Make At Home

Simple facial scrubs can be so expensive. I’m here to show you how to make those fancy scrubs on a budget. Odds are you have most of these ingredients in your kitchen. Here are 15 facial and lip scrubs you can make at home.

1. Cucumber

This cucumber facial scrub is super easy to make. The first thing you need to do is cut up a cucumber, then blend into a nice purée. Next, take ½ cup of the cucumber purée and mix it with ½ cup of grapeseed oil and 3 cups of sugar. Mix until it is evenly blended. This facial scrub is great for hydrating your skin and tightening your pores. This is because cucumbers are mildly astringent, so it will tighten your pores and prevent them from getting clogged.


2. Lemon

This lemon lip scrub is sweet and refreshing. Mix 1 teaspoon of jojoba oil, 1 teaspoon of raw honey, and 2 tablespoons of sugar. Then add a bit of lemon essential oil and mix until it is an even paste. This lip scrub is great for moisturizing and removing dark spots. The jojoba oil will moisturize your lips and the high concentration of vitamin c in the lemon oil will remove any dark spots on your lips.

3. Orange

This orange facial scrub will leave you with a natural glow. Dry out the peel off one orange, do this 3 to 4 days before you plan to make the scrub. Mix 1 teaspoon of jojoba oil, 1 teaspoon of raw honey, and 2 tablespoons of sugar. Grind up your dried orange peels and mix a small amount with 1 tablespoon of milk. Add this mixture to your previous one and mix until it is an even paste. Add more ground orange peel as needed. The vitamin c in the orange will help remove dark spots and the jojoba oil will moisturize your skin.


4. Banana

This banana facial scrub will leave your skin feeling radiant. Mix 1 teaspoon of milk, 1 teaspoon of gram flour, and one banana into an even paste. Evenly apply it to your face and leave it on for 10 minutes, then gently wash it off. For best results, apply coconut to your face afterwards. Bananas are jam-packed with vitamins and nutrients. Vitamins B, C, and E will help leave your face feeling more youthful.

5. Grapefruit

This grapefruit lip scrub will leave your lips feeling soft and sweet. Mix 1 tablespoon of shea butter, ½ a teaspoon of vitamin E oil, 1 tablespoon of coconut oil, 2 tablespoons of sugar, and some grapefruit essential oil. Your lips will thank you.

6. Pomegranate

A pomegranate facial scrub is just what you need to unclog your pores after a long day. Mix 2 tablespoons of argan oil, 2 tablespoons of coconut oil, an ½ a cup of sugar into an even paste. Next, add 1 teaspoon of pomegranate powder and ½ a teaspoon of pomegranate oil and evenly mix it. Finally, add some dried pomegranate flower petals and you’re done!

7. Apple

An apple a day keeps the acne away! This facial scrub is super easy. First, cut up a few apple slices and blend it into a paste. Next, add 2 tablespoons of raw honey. Evenly spread the paste on your face and leave it on for 30 minutes. Gently wash it off and moisturize afterwards.

8. Pumpkin

This pumpkin facial scrub is perfect for Autumn. Mix ½ a cup of white sugar, ½ a cup of brown sugar, and ½ a teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice. Next add in ¼ cup of pumpkin purée and ⅓ teaspoon of raw honey. Your face will smell and feel great!

9. Avocado

This avocado facial scrub will leave your skin baby soft, and glowing. Mix 1 whole avocado, excluding the pit and skin, ½ a cup of olive oil, ¼ cup of aloe juice, and 2 cups of sugar. Blend it into an even paste, then apply to the face.

10. Green Tea

This green tea facial scrub will help improve the texture of your skin. Mix ¾ cup of sugar, 1 tablespoon of green tea leaves, and 1 teaspoon of matcha green powder. Next, add 1 tablespoon of sweet almond oil and ⅛ cup of coconut. Mix into an even paste, then apply to the face.

This oatmeal facial scrub is great for dry skin. First, blend 1 cup of oatmeal until it is a fine powder. Next, mix in some water and 1 teaspoon of honey to make a paste. Stir until it is evenly mixed, then apply to the face. This is good for people with sensitive skin, since granulated sugar is not in it.

Mix until it is an even paste, then apply to the face. The cinnamon essential oil will help your lips look fuller.

15. Turmeric

This turmeric lip scrub can help restore your natural lip color and texture. Mix 2 teaspoons of turmeric powder, ½ a cup of sugar, ½ cup of brown sugar, ¼ cup of almond oil, and some lavender essential oil. Mix until it is an even paste, then apply to your lips.
