10 Trader Joe’s Snacks That You Need To Try

If you have not heard of Trader Joe’s, where have you been? Trader Joe’s is a very successful grocery store that carries their own brand of food, for inexpensive prices. If you have been in store before, you know that it is pretty easy to get overwhelmed with all of the choices. To help you out, I have curated a list of 10 snacks from Trader Joe’s that you need to try!

1. Chocolate Hummus

I know, it sounds a little weird. But trust me, this stuff is amazing! Chickpeas are the main ingredient, but do not worry, you can barely even taste them. There is also some cocoa, sugar, oil, salt, and tahini in there.

You can eat chocolate hummus with so many different things too. For some of us, we like to go straight into the container with a spoon or our finger. You can also try it with cookies, crackers, pretzels, and my favorite, strawberries (or any other fruit!).

This is such a great alternative to chocolate if you are looking for a healthier option. It is also vegan, so it is a great substitute for frosting/chocolate spreads.

2. Dried Mango

I am not kidding when I say I could eat the entire bag of dried mango in just one sitting.

Now, you should not mistake these with freeze dried mangos (which Trader Joe’s does in fact carry!), because these have a different taste and texture to them. Their dried mango is chewy and sweet. While I love to snack on these throughout the day, they also make a great dessert. Not to mention, it is a lot healthier than other traditional dessert items!

3. Trader Joe’s Version of Takis

If you have never had a Taki before, think hot cheetos, but with a different flavor. Takis are rolled tortilla chips with chili lime flavoring. Super yummy and spicy!

Trader Joe’s makes their own version of Takis under the name “Rolled corn tortilla chips”, they have the same flavoring as well. What I love about these is that they use coloring from vegetables and turmeric to get the red color of the chips, so no artificial colors!

4. Milk Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups

This is another product that I will just keep eating and eating until somebody stops me. I am not the biggest peanut butter fan, but for some reason, I am obsessed with these. They taste like Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, but better.

In one container, you get a ton of the peanut butter cups, so it is worth the money. If you have a sweet tooth, get these! Trust me on this one.

5. Joe Joes

Joe-Joes are sandwich cookies with cream filling, similar to Oreos, but are a part of the Trader Joe’s brand. These come in a variety of flavors so you are not just limited to one. They come out with new ones for each season, and have flavors such as Chocolate, Vanilla, and Peanut Butter. Some of their seasonal ones include Mango for summer, Pumpkin Spice for fall, and my personal favorite, Candy Cane for winter.

Most of the Joe-Joe flavors are gluten free, so if you have Celiac disease, or are gluten intolerant, these are a great snack for you to have. These are one of the most popular Trader Joe’s products, so check them out and see what the hype is all about!

6. Everything But The Bagel Nut Duo

The Everything But the Bagel seasoning has taken the world by storm the past few months. And it all started with Trader Joe’s! As their seasoning grew with popularity, they began coming out with various snacks with the same flavor.

The seasoning contains sesame seeds, sea salt, dried minced garlic, dried minced onion, black sesame seeds, and poppy seeds. This tastes amazing on so many things, bagels, avocado toast, and especially on the nut duo, which is almonds and cashews. These are perfect for a quick snack, and they look great on a charcuterie board as well.

7. Gone Bananas and Gone Berry Crazy

Gone Bananas and Gone Berry Crazy are frozen bananas and strawberries dipped in dark chocolate. So good! They can be found in the frozen section, and they are a perfect snack or dessert.

8. Cookie Butter

Cooker Butter has been a Trader Joe’s staple for years. It is made from Belgium cookies that are crumbled, with hints of cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and ginger in it.

It is a very versatile product because you can eat it with so many different things. Think peanut butter, but just a different flavor to it. I like to put mine on toast, crackers, and cookies. Sometimes I just eat it out of the container with a spoon. Don’t judge me!

Because this is such a popular product, Trader Joe’s has expanded their cookie butter line. Definitely check out the cookie butter ice cream, it is my favorite!

9. Plantain Chips

According to Trader Joes, a plantain is a close relative to bananas, so keep that in mind if you have never tried one before. Trader Joe’s gets their plantains straight from Peru, where they are picked at prime ripeness so that they are sweet.

To make the plantain chips, they slice up the plantains, cook them in sunflower oil, and then sprinkle them with some salt.

If you find yourself frequently snacking on potato chips, this is a tasty and healthier alternative for you!

10. Popcorn

No, I am not just talking about regular popcorn. Trader Joe’s has SO many different kinds of popcorn. Movie theater, olive oil, key lime, kettle corn, and the list goes on.

Popcorn is another good alternative to potato chips, because it is more nutrient dense, lower in calories, and has high fiber.
