Why Harry Styles Is So Hot Right Now

If you haven’t heard the latest Harry Styles album, ‘Fine Line’ stop what you are doing and check it out. You will be blown away by the musical melodies of the famous Brit. Harry Styles has quickly gone from a boy to a man before our very eyes. We loved him in One Direction and continue to root for him as a thriving solo artist while fangirl over his captivating smile.

Harry is definitely on everyone’s radar and for good reason. Read on for more insight into the mythical man that is Harry Styles and all the reasons why he is definitely hot stuff right now.

His independence

Harry Styles is notoriously known as an ex-member
of the beloved boy band, One Direction. After five chart-topping music albums, the band went on hiatus in 2015. Harry, along with the rest of his band mates went on to pursue solo projects. In February of 2016, Styles launched his own record label, Erskine Records and signed a recording contract with Columbia Records. Harry even made his acting debut in Christopher Nolan’s war film Dunkirk, in July of 2017.

Many would cling to the success of a boy band but Harry is a perfect example of what it means to evolve as a person and artist by taking a leap into the unknown to reach even greater heights. We are so grateful he did and will continue to root for his success.

His kindness

Harry practices what he preaches. He is an advocate for spreading kindness and love to the world. Harry has donated more than 1 million dollars to 62 charities from his earnings off his first solo album. He uses his fame and fortune to give back to others. What a breath of fresh air!

As a society, we hold up our idols in such high regard but when they fail to live up to our expectations we ended up disappointed. I’m sure Harry Styles has faults of his own, but any person who chooses to spread love and goodness to everyone he meets is pretty amazing.

He’s a feminist

Harry has stated that growing up with strong women influences, like his mother and sisters, has led to him being a firm believer in equality between the sexes. As a male artist whose core fandom has been young females, it kind of makes sense he would call himself one.

“I think ultimately feminism is thinking that men and women should be equal, right? People think if you say ‘I’m a feminist’ it means you think men should burn in hell and women should trample on their necks. No, you think that women should be equal. That doesn’t sound like a crazy thing to me. I grew up with my mum and sister, when you grow up with women your female influence is just bigger. Of course, men and women should be equal.”

Wise words Harry, wise words!

His environmentalism

Harry loves the earth and seeks ways to conserve and protect the environment. At his concerts, he practices water conservation. On his first solo tour, Harry Styles encouraged water conservation by saving the equivalent of 10,000 single-use water bottles by fans and 3,200 by the band and crew according to Billboard magazine. Harry is a firm believer in leaving the planet better than you found it.

Not consumed with his celebrity status

It’s hard not to let popularity and fame get to one’s head. The thing I appreciate most about Harry is that he doesn’t let the fame get to him. On social media, he does a great job of engaging with fans but also not giving everything away. In interviews, he has shared that when he first started in music it was expected to be fully transparent on social media platforms but over time he has taken a step back and become more selective about what parts of himself he shares with the world.

A great lesson we can all take from Harry. Not every aspect of your life needs to be documented on social media.

Solidarity for human rights

Harry Styles is a big advocate for diversity and uniqueness. If you attend a show, you will see his well-known slogan of ‘Treat People With Kindness’ on parade along with flags to show support for the LGBTQ community and encourages fans to bring Black Lives Matter posters to his shows. He deems his concerts as a safe space, a place that people can truly express who they are and simply be their most genuine and true self.

Harry is well aware of his privileges as a white male and uses any opportunity to speak out for those who are under marginalized. He stated in his Rolling Stone interview, ” It’s not about me trying to champion the cause because I’m not the person to do it. It’s just about not ignoring it.”

Fashion taste

Harry Styles is not afraid of bending the rules when it comes to fashion. He is often photographed in pictures with painted nails, a skirt, and on occasion a dress. Serving as the genderless icon for Gucci, Harry Styles blurs the lines for what is masculine and what is considered feminine. Styles channels gender ambiguity of past generation rock stars, like Mick Jagger. Designers who have worked with Harry Styles praise his ability to communicate his message of love and acceptance through clothing.

His roots

Harry Styles was born in England and had developed his singing capabilities early on in life. He attended Holmes Chapel Comprehensive School and while there he was the lead singer for a band called the White Eskimo, a band who won a local Battle of the Band competition. As a child, Styles was given a karaoke machine by his grandfather and would record song covers, cementing early on his love and affection for music.
