What To Do Around Florida State University When You’re Broke AF

Sometimes you're completely broke and looking for something free to do. Fortunately, Florida State University has a lot of options for you!

Whether you’re trying to save up or just awaiting that next pay check everyone’s been that broke college student cliché at least once, but who’s to say that has to prevent you from finding something fun to do? Dollar ramen and Netflix are not your only options, I promise. Here’s a few budget-friendly places around Florida State University that prove it:

First Fridays

A staple around Florida State University, the first Friday of every month head out to Railroad Square for some electric vintage shopping (or window shopping), free live music, and cheap food truck eats that do not disappoint (shepherd’s pie sandwich? I think yes.). There’s plenty to do, plenty to see, and more important than that plenty to eat; it’s free to enter and with cheap food options this is a haven for college students on a budget.

All Saints Cinema

A theater built inside the old Amtrak station, All Saints Cinema features award winning indie films, and old school classics cheaper than the local theater and with a much more original setting. The best part being the popcorn and snacks are half the price of the ridiculous regular theater prices, it’s about time. As an added bonus you’re also supporting a local Tallahassee business and your local arts!
