Ways You’ll Wear Denim This Summer

Let’s talk about all things denim, ladies!

Denim is a classic and if you didn’t know that… well, now you do. If you pay close attention to all the fashion trends going on in the world, then you know that denim came and went and now it’s back again. Truthfully, I love denim. It’s a staple in my closet and I hope it is in yours too. You just can never go wrong with a jean jacket and of course you have the most popular item, jeans, which I think everyone from almost all walks of life wear. Do you love denim? If so, I have all the ways you’ll want to wear denim this summer and even heading into fall.

The Denim Shirt

The denim shirt has come and gone and now here it is back in style. Many people pair this shirt with either black leggings and boots or a mini skirt with heels. You could even do denim on denim which is becoming very popular. What I love about this look is how you can either dress it up or dress it down. If you’re just doing chores around the house, wear a white t-shirt underneath and you’ll be as comfortable as ever. You could also pair your denim shirt with white or black skinny jeans, khakis, a floral skirt or even a skirt that has animal prints on it. Many of my friends wear their denim shirts with a tulle skirt or just a light pair of jeans (as long as the shirt is a couple shades darker).

The Denim Skirt

Next up we have the denim skirt. This denim item is easy to pair with almost anything which is why it should be a staple in your closet. How should you pair your denim skirt with other items of clothing? A button-down t-shirt with a cardigan, tank-top and boots, a light sweater and some cute canvas sneakers, and even a long sleeve blouse with sandals or white sneakers.

Denim Shorts

The good ole fashion denim shorts, I truly believe that this denim item will never go out of style. If you’re not sure what to wear with your denim shorts, don’t worry, I will tell you! It’s easy. Wear your denim shorts with a white t-shirt with a pop of red in a banana. You can even wear a tweed jacket with a pair of sandals if you’re really trying to be fancy or you can be incredibly chic and wear stripes with canvas sneakers. Honestly, the ideas are endless when you’re wearing jean shorts. Sometimes I wear them, I will a light sweater and some cute kicks, especially if I am only doing errands around town.

The Denim Jacket

I love the denim jacket and so should you. In fact, I have a couple of these in my closet right now that I am about to wear out for the weekend. Truth is, the jean jacket should be one of your most worn denim items. Not only is it fashionably cute, but it’s versatile, meaning you can wear it with almost absolutely anything and do no wrong. If you’re not sure how to wear the denim jacket, I have been right where you are because it took me years to figure out the best looks. It’s easy though. Wear it with a white t-shirt and sneakers, dress pants with a nice shirt underneath, button-down shirt and loafers, a sweater if you’re going out on a date night and you can even wear denim on denim. In the summer, I usually pair my jean jacket with a white t-shirt and shorts. For me, this is my go-to outfit because it’s quick and easy, but it looks put together and is effortlessly chic.

You can’t forget about denim jeans

I truly don’t believe that I know a person who does not wear denim jeans. They’re a classic, forever in style until the end of time. I don’t know about you, but I have about a dozen pairs of denim jeans in my closet. Some are new, some are old, some are just crappy jeans for when I paint and don’t want to ruin my good jeans. What I do love about them is how durable they are. They last a very very long time which means you don’t have to keep buying a new pair every few months or so. They are worth the investment because I don’t know about you, but I wear jeans almost every single day because they are versatile and go with absolutely everything. Now they don’t just come in blue either, but almost every color of the rainbow which makes mixing and matching outfits incredibly fun. So what should you wear with your denim jeans? Add a blazer with some heels a graphic t-shirt, a simple white t-shirt and some cute comfy sneakers, if you’re wearing dark jeans, then pair it with some bright colors so that they contrast one another. The ideas are endless.
