8 Ways To Be Healthy In College

When it comes to college there is no doubt that is it the ultimate party package. Late nights, hook-ups, getting drunk, and munchies. However, there are ways to make sure your college times don’t put a damper on your health, mentally and physically. Read on to learn 8 ways to be healthy in college.

1. If you’re going to drink, know what you’re drinking.

There are drinks out there that you can get away with that have fewer calories. For example, if you just want to get drunk go for a vodka water. The vodka only has around 60 calories per cup. This is better than drinking more beer which will only make you bloated. It’s a win-win.

2. Set up a routine to be active at least 4 days a week.

Whether it be just walking around campus, going to the gym, or even doing an online workout in your dorm room, being active will set a routine for you and your body will ultimately thank you.

3. Take a health class!

You’re in college. The classes that you can take are endless. Pick an elective that involves an activity! Take a yoga class and see how good you feel when the semester ends.

4. Chose friends with the same interests or goals as you.

We all know working out sucks some days. Many days you’ll just want to lay in your bed and watch Netflix. If you have friends who want to stay healthy like you, you can motivate each other.

5. Food!

No doubt that we all love food. Who doesn’t love a nice chocolate dessert? If you’re going to treat yourself, make sure that it’s only a treat. Take advantage of all the dining options you have at school. There’s an ample amount of them to choose from.

6. Control your munchies!

We all know they come, but please don’t let the Insomnia Cookie and Chipotle get to you

Similar to knowing your drinks, knowing your food is just as important. Eat meals with nutritional value, it will do your body some good in the long run.

8. Sleep.

Let your body rest! I know you’ll go to parties, I know you have labs/homework due, I know the boy asked you on a date. But, you need your sleep, make sure you’re getting enough!
