Sometimes it can get a bit repetitive wondering around the same city day after day, weekend after weekend to the same old shopping centre, parks or activity centres. 1. Bournemouth
If you don’t want to venture too far away from Southampton for an escape day then I recommend Bournemouth. Especially in the summer when you can enjoy the full benefits of its sandy beach, pier and arcade centre.
2. Portsmouth
If you’re into the more historic side of things then Portsmouth dockyard is the place for you. Spend the day wondering around HMS Victory and the Mary Rose and finish your day off with a well cooked restaurant meal or a bargain deal in the hundreds of outlet stores available.
