Our Review Of The Too Faced Gold Collection

The latest edition to the chocolate collection was released online back in December 2017 and has since been trialed by many different beauty gurus, so we thought it was finally time to give our opinions on the Chocolate Gold palette. Here is our review on the Too Faced Gold Collection.

Too faced is world renowned for its gorgeous chocolate palettes, from the pigments to the delightful smell, there are no palettes on the market that compare. The latest edition to the chocolate collection was released online back in December 2017 and has since been trialed by many different beauty gurus, so we thought it was finally time to give our opinions on the Chocolate Gold palette. Here is our review on the Too Faced Gold Collection.

Real gold!

First of all, this palette contains real gold! While it doesn’t have any beauty benefits like the cocoa they use, it is hella pretty. It makes the foiled colours look unbelievably shiny, and anyone who knows me knows I love my bling. Even better, the palette contains some matte base and transition shades, meaning you don’t have to buy extra palettes to do a complete look.

I have been using this collection almost exclusively since I purchased it. All the colours blend well together and a lot of them are natural colours, meaning it’s easy to create both day and night looks with them. If you are a little scared of the green, don’t worry I was too, but I’ve found using it as an under eye liner instead of a main shadow really brings out the blue in my eyes.

Clean up.

The only thing I can fault about the palette is the fallout. Make sure if you are using this palette that you do your eyes first, or at the very least put some extra powder on underneath, otherwise you will be doing quite a bit of clean up with the darker colours.

As for the rest of the Too Faced Gold collection, it is all stunning.

The Eyeliners.

The Glitter Pop eyeliners add a lot of fun to any look. Adding the glitter and bold colour to a simple eye looks amazing. These eyeliners are made to dry into stickers, this way they peel off when you are done and there is less messy clean up. In theory this is a great plan but unfortunately, they start to peel off after about three hours taking the makeup around it with them, and if you are out all night drinking you are not going to be able to re-apply.

The Bronzer.

The Chocolate Soleil Bronzer is a great formula. Personally, I can’t use it in my own looks as it is too dark, but someone with a darker skin tone would definitely enjoy this shimmery addition to their contour.

The Lipstick.

Possibly the scariest piece in this collection is Melted Gold. This lipstick is gold, and I don’t know about you, but I like to stay in my comfort zone of red, red and more red (I have 43 different shades of red). However, I will say that after trying this… I am still terrified of it on its own. I ended up speaking to the Too Faced employees and they suggested using it in an Ombre effect with a deep colour, and honestly, I haven’t stopped using it since, especially with the pure gold loose glitter.

The Multi-Purpose Product.

The Pure Gold Loose Glitter is a multi-use product. It can be a highlighter, eye embellishment and lip ombre. My personal favourite use is lip ombre. It just complements red so gorgeously. Obviously, it being a powder glitter, it can take a few layers to get it right, but once you do, the shine is mesmerising.

The Highlighter.

Last, but definitely not least, is the Diamond Highlighter. This beauty keeps selling out, even now, designed like a little ring box, everyone is slightly different inside. This silver hued highlighter is BLINDING! There is not a lot more I can say, it has a great formula and catches the light beautiful.

Overall the collection is a real hit with only a few minor blips, I couldn’t recommend the collection enough. My favourite one hundred percent is the highlighter. The eyeliners sadly come last, which is a shame because I really hate having to scrub of eye makeup after a long night out.
