Growing up as the youngest sibling has both it’s perks and downsides. If you’re anything like me you were stealing your sister’s clothes, reading her diary, and was told you were adopted, all by the time you turned 12. Whether you have ten older brothers or just a sister, every baby of the family will relate to these 15 things that only younger sisters understand.

1. The saying “what’s mine is your’s, and yours is mine” becomes an active reality.

You got used to sharing everything from your bedroom to your toothbrush!

2. They tried to convince you that you were the “mistake child.”

… and it was probably true.

3. No matter how hard you tried to fit in with your older sibling’s friends, they always considered you the annoying younger sibling.

4. You never owned a brand new item of clothing until your first job.

Hand-me-down Hollister was pure gold.

5. You were the brunt of everyone’s jokes because you were too little to understand.

6. You knew about all the “adult things” before anyone else your age by reading your older sister’s diary.

7. You’ll always have someone to buy you alcohol even though they’ll be hesitant about being a bad influence.

8. You were stealing your sisters bras at age 12.

….because your mom still refused to buy you your own.

9. Getting a boyfriend meant he was dating the whole family because you’ll always be the “little one”.

10. Your mom gave up on baby books after her first child, so you never get to see how ugly your siblings claim you were.

11. You never got to go on vacations because your parents swear you were the child that got to go to Disney.

12. Getting called by all your siblings names until your mom finally gets to yours.

13. You spent most of your time kicked out of your own room because your older sister had a boy over.

14. Your parents basically gave up on raising you…

They were too tired from your other siblings to try.

15. Even though your siblings made your life a living hell, they’ll always be your first best friends.
