Let’s be honest, being horny and hungry is a recipe for disaster. Eating before sex can give you a similar sensation to eating before swimming. If you find yourself enjoying a juicy steak before you get down and dirty, then you should also get ready for cramps and heartburn — both of which are not sexy. You could try eating a salad, although that’ll just leave you hungry and the sound of your stomach grumbling isn’t exactly sexy. Don’t worry though, there are tons of options for pre-sex snacks that will leave you satisfied and sexy.
1. Quinoa Salads
I know I said salads weren’t a good food option before sex, but quinoa salads are different because, unlike lettuce, it actually fills you up. Not to mention, quinoa is extremely good for you and can give you energy in the bedroom that won’t wear off halfway through foreplay. Now, I’m not suggesting you just eat an entire bowl of quinoa — that would be silly. Instead, try mixing in some yummy vegetables to give your salad some flavor. Avocado, red onion, cucumber and spinach work great in a quinoa salad. This pre-sex meal will help you feel as light as a feather all night long, while still being full and energized.
2. Dairy-Free Smoothies
If you want smoother moves in the bedroom then try drinking a smoothie right before. Smoothies are a great pre-sex meal because they are easy to make and easy to digest. The only catch with smoothies is that you can’t add dairy. Dairy is sex’s worst nightmare. Milk helps support good bone growth, but if you want a different bone to be growing, I would leave milk out of your smoothie. If you think a smoothie might be too light for a pre-sex meal then try adding some protein powder into the mix, it’ll help make this drink feel more like a meal.
3. Chicken Anything
I hate chicken. Chicken is the worst thing to ever happen to my mouth, and that includes the time I got my tongue stuck to a fence in the second grade. Despite how disgusting it is, it is also extremely good for you. When I eat chicken, I feel amazing, look incredible and I have so much extra energy. Next time you’re on a date and you’re wondering what to order, try the chicken. It may be bland but you’ll feel good about your decision and your body will thank you.
Toast may seem like the wrong direction, it is a carb, after all. However, it is also very filling. I’m also not suggesting you eat an entire loaf of bread. That would be crazy. Next time you’re feeling peckish before sex, head into the kitchen and make your self one piece of toast. Now you’re probably wondering how one piece of toast is supposed to fill you up; well, no one said that toast had to be naked. Make yourself a fancy little avocado and egg combination for your toast. You may even end up making something totally Instagram worthy.
An apple a day keeps the doctor away. It will also keep away bloating, gas, and stomach gurgling. No one ever wants to eat an apple, but we all know they taste great. There is an old trick I learned years ago to be able to tell the difference between hunger and just being peckish. If you’re hungry you’ll want to eat an apple, if not you’re probably just bored. Use this trick when deciding what to eat before sex, if you really are hungry then an apple should sound great.
Pizza and sex don’t go together. However, sex and flatbread might be your new favorite combo. The only bad thing about pizza is the thick crust, it’ll fill you and leave you feeling bloated. Flatbread has all the good stuff that goes on a pizza without all that dough. Try having a slice or two before your next no pants dance and see if feel full and satisfied. I wouldn’t recommend eating an entire flatbread pizza; that will cause bloating.
7. A Small Treat
Since you’re about to get dirty, maybe it’s okay to be a little bad in the kitchen too. A small treat before sex like a cookie, brownie, or macron can boost your energy and make you all sorts of perky. Although this may not seem like a healthy bit of advice, it is a tasty piece of advice that I recommend trying. Just remember that moderation is key when it comes to eating a snack before sex.
8. Fruits and Vegetables
It seems obvious, but if you’re really looking for something to put in your mouth that is tasty and healthy then you should reach for some carrots. Fruits and vegetables are a quick and easy meal to eat right before sex. They will make you feel full and keep your energy up because energy is key in the activity you’re about to join.
Yes, this isn’t really healthy, but I think we can make an exception for coffee. Coffee starts our mornings, keeps us moving in the afternoon and can wake you up when the lights go low. No one wants to have sex with someone when they’re tired, nor do you want to have sex when you’re tired. Throw back a cup of coffee when you’re looking to get some quick caffeine and a rush of adrenaline. Drink it black to avoid a sugar crash and drinking black coffee gives you badass points.
