Tasty New Year’s Eve Drinks You Can Make To Bring In The New Year

Whether you’re throwing it down with your friends at home or curling up with our family for the big countdown, you couldn’t be more excited to leave the frenzy of 2020 behind you forever. You’re ready to celebrate the new possibilities of 2021. What better way to do this than with some delicious cocktails for the occasion?

Here are some tasty New Year’s Eve drinks you can make to bring in the new year.

New Year’s Sparkler

If you love tequila, this New Year’s Eve drink is for you.

You’re going to need a tequila of your choosing, lemon juice, simple syrup, a pineapple, a lemon, blueberries, bitters, and prosecco. Juice the pineapple and lemon and muddle six of the blueberries. Take 3/4 an ounce of the lemon juice, 3/4 an ounce of the simple syrup, 1/2 an ounce of the pineapple juice, a dash of the bitter, and an ounce of tequila to shake with ice. Strain the drink into some champagne flutes and add the prosecco.

White Negroni

A negroni is never for the weak when it comes to New Year’s Eve drinks. This cocktail requires gin, Suze liqueur, Lillet Blanc, and a lemon peel. Combine 1.5 ounces of the gin with 1/2 an ounce of the Suze liqueur, and 1.5 ounces of the Lillet Blanc. Use the lemon peel for a garnish at the end.

Sparkling Julep

Looking for more of a refreshing New Year’s Eve drink? This one’s going to need mint leaves, a lemon peel, simple syrup, bitters, cognac, and champagne. You muddle the simple syrup with around 6 mint leaves before adding 3 ounces of the champagne and a 1/2 ounce of the cognac. After a dash of bitters and ice, stir and garnish with the lemon peel or some more mint leaves.

New York Sour

Since we won’t be able to crowd Times Square to watch the ball drop this year, bring New York to your glass. You’ll need bourbon, red wine, a lemon, simple syrup, and an egg white. Juice the lemon and add it to 2 ounces of the bourbon and 3/4 of an ounce of the simple syrup and the egg white. Shake this combination with ice and pour it into a glass. Add 1/2 an ounce of the red wine at the top of each cocktail.

Confetti Champagne

Want a New Year’s Eve drink that looks fun and quirky? Get together a lime, pop rocks, vanilla vodka, champagne, and Sprite. Coat the rims of your glasses first with a wedge from your lime and dip them into the pop rocks. For the drinks, pour in an ounce of vanilla vodka for each, champagne until the glass is 3/4 full, and top it off with the Sprite.

Peppermint Bark Mimosas

At the end of the year, you probably still have some leftover goodies from Christmas and it would be wise to put it to good use. Gather some chocolate candies, candy canes, champagne, and peppermint schnapps. Melt the chocolate on a plate, crush some candy canes on another, and garnish the rims of your champagne glasses first into the chocolate and then into the crushed candy canes. For the drinks, mix an ounce of the peppermint schnapps with champagne.

Peppermintinis

For those who want something slightly classier than the peppermint bark mimosa as a New Year’s drink, consider this option. Just like before, take your chocolate, candy canes, and peppermint schnapps from the last recipe and use it with vodka, white chocolate liqueur, and heavy cream. Do the same process with the chocolate and candy canes as before on each plate and fix the rims of each glass. Fill 1/3 of each glass with more melted chocolate and freeze them.

Shake 6 ounces of the white chocolate liqueur, 4 ounces of the vodka, 2 ounces of the peppermint schnapps, and a couple of tablespoons of the heavy cream with lots of ice. Finally, pour the mixture on top of the frozen chocolate in the glasses.

No celebration is complete without laughter and this next New Year’s Drink brings lots of it. This cocktail requires lemon vodka, Moscato, pink lemonade, Sprite, and red fruit. Mix 1.5 ounces of the lemon vodka, 1 ounce of the Moscato, 2.5 ounces of the pink lemonade, and 1.5 ounces of the Sprite with the red fruit. Serve it on ice, add some sugar to the rims, and you’re set.

Jack Frosties

There’s a lovely blue drink on this list that you need for the big celebration. Gather some vodka, prosecco, blue curacao, and lemonade. Blend a cup of the vodka, a cup of the prosecco, 1/2 a cup of the blue curacao, and 1/2 a cup of lemonade all with ice to make a slushie consistency. Rim the glasses with sugar and pour it up.

Mistletoe Margaritas

What better way to celebrate that traditional midnight kiss than with this tasty cocktail. You’ll need whole cranberries, cranberry juice, salt, sugar, tequila, triple sec, and lime juice. Rim the glasses with sugar and salt. Mix two cups of the cranberry juice, 12 ounces of the tequila, 8 ounces of the triple sec, and 1/2 a cup of the lime juice. Like the Jack Frosties above, you’re going to want to add lots of ice and have it blended to a slushie consistency.

Be careful, you might enjoy the drink more than the kiss.

Apple Cider Old Fashioneds

You need something strong to forget about how awful 2020 was. This is your remedy New Year’s Eve drink. This cocktail needs whiskey, bitters, apple cider, apples, and cinnamon sticks. Slice up the apples first. Mix 2/3 a cup of the apple cider with 2 ounces of the whiskey. Add a couple dashes of the bitters and use the sliced apples and cinnamon sticks as a fancy garnish. I promise this smells as delicious as it tastes.

Make the most of your New Year’s Eve and ring in 2021 the right way. Don’t let the pandemic bring you down! Drink up! What sort of cocktails do you plan on making to celebrate? Let me know in the comments below!
