20 Signs You’re From Georgia

Georgia is one interesting state to live in, there are various facts that only Georgians would understand because we have experienced them by living here. Whether you live in the northern or southern region of Georgia, the culture is all the same and that aspect is what makes this state great. Keep reading for 20 signs you’re from Georgia!

1. The only drink we know is sweet tea.

2. You will experience all four seasons in just one week.

It can be sunny on Monday, raining by Wednesday, sleeting on Friday, and by Saturday there is an inch of snow on your lawn and they shut everything down.

3. There is nothing like Atlanta traffic, no really, it’s the worst thing on Earth.

4. The University of Georgia football team runs the state of Georgia.

If you’re from Georgia, you know this. Every kid in your high school will own a UGA shirt, they may not even plan to attend the university for school, but I promise on college football Saturday’s they will be shouting “Go Dawgs!” with the rest of community.

5. Although Georgia is in the south, the only place you’ll find people with thick country accents are located below Macon County.

There you will find farms, cotton fields, one high school for the entire county.

 

6. “Y’all” is a word that describes two or more people.

7. In 2014, the state of Georgia was shutdown because of the “Snowpocalypse”.

8. “Brookwood Where You At?”, that’s all I have to say.

9. One of the best ways to travel to downtown during a big event in Atlanta, MARTA.

10. Peaches, we’re known for them!

11. If you’re a fan of any professional sports teams in Georgia, I am truly sorry.

12. Stone Mountain Park

20. The second “t” in Atlanta is silent “AT-LAN-A” or “Hotlanta” as us natives like to call it during the summer time.

The diverse culture of Georgia is something to be proud of, the state embraces the past as well as anticipates its future. I’m happy that I can share with y’all a few things that all Georgians can relate to!
