The decision to break up with someone is always a difficult decision to make. You’ve invested a decent amount of time with this person, possibly seen a future with him or her. Things might have been great between the two of you for the first couple of weeks or months even, but now you’re starting to realize that the relationship isn’t what it used to be; and not in a good way. Here are some signs that it might be time to break up with him or her:

1. Everything He/She Does Annoys You in the Relationship

When you begin a relationship with someone new, you might consider everything he or she does to be cute and funny. If their habits that used to never bother you begin to annoy you, it’s not a great sign. You may be able to work past it, but if their habits make up who that person truly is, it maybe easier to just end the relationship.

2. You Would Rather Spend Time Away from Him/Her

When you begin a relationship, all you want to do is spend every waking moment with that person. However, spending too much time with one person can make you sick of that person possibly making you want to spend more time away from that person. It’s sad but true. It’s not a terrible thing to spend time away from the person, but it’s a terrible sign if you would rather be without him or her than with him or her.

3. The Sexual Attraction Has Subdued

This is more important than one might think it should be, but attraction is a key quality in a relationship. If you are no longer attracted to his or her’s personality, it may cause you to no longer find him or her attractive physically.

4. You Don’t Like to Spend Time With His/Her Family or Friends

Who your person hangs out with on a somewhat daily basis can tell you a lot about that person. If you have given it a fair shot, and you simply don’t get along with the people he or she surrounds his or her self with, you might want to consider terminating the relationship.

Some people think it’s important to be able to see a future with the person they are currently dating. 6. You’re Simply Not Happy in the Relationship Anymore

This is one of the hardest truths to accept when it’s time to break up with someone because it’s hard to believe that someone who made you so incredibly happy once no longer has the ability to make you as happy as you could be. You still might have good moments with that person every once in a while, moments that you hold on to in order to save what ever is left of the relationship, but you want to trust me on this. The moment you accept the fact that you are no longer happy will also be the moment that frees you from the burden of trying to save an already dead relationship. You realize that it’s not fair to that person as well as to yourself, and in order to make yourself happy once more is to take a deep breath and let it all go.
