10 Reasons You Should Vacation From Technology

Everywhere we turn technology is all around us. It is embedded in our lives, everything is so simple these days. Anything you need can be at the top of your thumb, literally. However, doesn’t the need to have a break from it all comes to mind? Social media can be very draining let alone beneficial. The need to stop comparing ourselves rather it be beauty or success needs a recess. It’s good to take a break. Here several reasons why you should.

1. Release Anxiety

Releasing the pressure of comparing your lifestyle to someone else. Enough of the constant anxiety of the future by the looks on social media and in society. Being still for a weekend without technology can ease your nerves about life and it’s decisions.

2. Cleanse your mind

You remember when we were kids, our parents used to say that too much television will rot your brain? Well, I’m not sure about rotting our brain but it sure can take up most of our valuable time in certain moments. Not only that, but television can alter our brain state into hypnosis and may have you become addicted. It is no secret that a program on t.v. can put you in such a trance to suck you in. Don’t let it be your favorite show! Relax your mind by letting go of this luxury.

3. Getting back in the groove

By taking a vacation from the technology you would really have no choice but to pay more attention to your needs. Maybe you need more than a vacation from technology, maybe a spa or a get-a-way could help. Getting away from the ways of the world may also help you notice other things that you may have neglected, like maybe your the healthiness of your hair or the cleanliness of your home.

4. Out of the ordinary

Maybe you should check out that new restaurant that just opened up in the city or see the new paintings in the art gallery at the museum. Going to places where you have never been can be very good for you. It can stimulate your body and soul and you’ll be relieved you did it.

5. Connect with friends and family

We are so busy with work these days we forget about those who matter most. Let’s be honest, most of the technology we use is for work or at work. We as a people get so caught up in our close loved ones seem irrelevant. Put down the remote, and maybe pick up the phone more often to talk to your family and that you care about. At some point in life, you’ll realize that those that care about you in your life are the only one that matters.

6. Feeling refreshed

You’ll be feeling like a brand new person coming back into the world from silence and tranquility. Your brain will feel recharged and ready to take on the next big that comes your way. The fact of having a clear mind will have you lighter on your feet!

7. Read all about it

Take the time to get into a new book. Reading could always relax the mind in the healthiest of ways. Getting lost in a book, curled up on a sofa with a warm blanket sounds pretty good to me!

8. You’ll be a better person, so smile!

After you come back from a technology vacation, there will be something different about you, physical wise. When you are cut off from the rest of the world, it is something that most people aren’t used to. Once you finally get that relief, there will be a glow about you. It will seem as if you went out of the country when all you did was probably enjoy yourself in the comfort of your own home.

9. Get in tune with nature!

There is nothing like the great outdoors! A bit of fresh air away from life never hurt anyone. Connecting with nature can open up your senses to make your body feel more peaceful. Laying on the grass, smelling of flowers, the sound of gentle waters from a lake or beach ease your reality into fantasy.

10. You’ll live longer

This may not be a proven fact, but think about it; the more time you take out for yourself, the more content you’ll be with life. Remembering that you also matter in this world full of technological advances can impact your mindset into thinking that maybe life isn’t so bad

Technology is all around us, we cannot help but to see it let alone use it. Even though it plays a huge catalyst in our lives, we must learn to unplug ourselves in order to recharge. A happier you in real life is more important than that job or what it may seem on social media. Try taking a vacation from it all from time to time and tell me you don’t see a difference in all aspects of your being.

I've been a writer all my life! A good one I must add. Not to be cocky, but I cannot think of anything else to do with my life besides writing. I love to write about what I know along with what I find most interesting about life. I run a BLOG about my journey of leaving home and driving across country to Los Angeles (you're gonna want to read it, it's pretty funny). My dreams are to become an author and to freelance write where ever I can. I can envision myself, interviewing those I admire the most in their careers. That can mean a wide range of people from celebrities to struggle artist on the street. It doesn't matter. As long as you inspire me, to aspire you. Then, I'm good.
