How To Make Room For New Clothes In Your Closet

We all want more clothes in our closets but where will we put it? Certainly not on the floor so lets take a look at some of the best ways to make more room for the new wardrobe. Our closets all come in different shapes and sizes but these are some of the best ways to add more space in your closet.

1. Closet Organizers

This is for everyone who likes a little bit of a more clean organized closet where you could fold in your clothing such as Tees, socks, and underwear. You can purchase the stackable closet drawers  at your nearest Walmart or Target. They are so convinevent and can add a lot of room not only to your closet but to your entire room if you decide to place them inside your closet. If you like a more open floor plan and would like to switch up the way your room is layed out this is the first step to getting there. The closet organizers are so cheap since you have the options of either getting them made of plastic they will not be heavy at all but if you are feeling a little boujee they do offer wood ones but those will run you up to 4x the amount that the plastic ones would. Another great thing about these stackable organizers is the fact that you could stack them on top of each other so not only will you need to grab two to take home but you are guaranteed they will stack right above each other. When you decide to stop by the store make sure to take a look and see if you have any in stock as they do happen to fly by quickly.

2. Types of Hangers

It is time to throw out all those plastic hangers! Your normal white colored hangers are also adding an unnecessary room to your closet making it much full and not allowing space for new clothes so its time to throw them out. The best alternative of those types of hangers is making the switch to velvet or Wonder Hanger Max Hangers that allow maximum storage to be able to add a lot more clothing. The Wonder Hanger Max hanger does something like no other hanger, it allows you to hang multiple shirts on one hanger but then gives the option to extend downward where 6 shirts now only took up the space of 3. The hangers will not only add space but they will also make your closet look much more neat and tidy since they will be adding a new look rather than what the plain basic white has to offer. Not only will your closet and clothes look nice because of this switch but will also a huge benefit would be that the clothing will not slip off the sides nor will it look cheap anymore. Hangers for pants also exist which can help free up space depending on how you have your jeans and pants organized but with the stackable closet drawer and some new hangers your closet has added some new room for some new clothes. The hangers could be found at any home decor store so a very small amount. They tend to come in packs of 12 to 30 so make sure to go get yourself some new types of hangers.

 3. Trade In Or Go Donate!

The best thing to do when you are doing your spring cleaning is not to throw away all your clothes but rather donate it or trade it in for some pocket money. There are many ways where and how you can trade-in or donate your used clothing to re add some purpose to it. It is always a good idea to look around your area and see what kind of thrift shops there are because some of them will pay you for your old clothing to resell and if you would not mind getting a few dollars back then this is an idea to consider big time.  If you do not care to receive money or they just did not accept it for whatever reason, there are thrift stores where you can donate whatever you like for free. Sometimes near a plaza or shopping center you might see a green metal donation box where you are also able to throw in clothing that will later be taken care of but if you are willing to donate it another option to consider is giving it to people who might need it or offer it to a friend before deciding to throw it out. During the winter months it is a great idea to go hand out the sweaters and jackets you no longer love to those who can not afford to buy a jacket or hoodie because everyone deserves to stay warm.

4. A Clean Room Is a Happy Room

Sometimes we all let our room get a little messy and that is more than okay. When starting the process to add more space to your closet you are going to want to make sure your room is ready for a giant mess that is about to happen. Do you ever make a bigger mess when you clean your room before it all comes together? Because me too. Sometimes when our rooms are a mess we might lose track of what we have in our closets and might let it just pile up but if you manage to clean it up and make sure everything is organized then you are more than likely to know what you wear and what you do not need. This can be very helpful because you might have clothes you thought you lost and can start using again or might come across something that is so last year and just might have to throw it out to make way for the new clothing you are about to go purchase.

5. A Fun Garage sale

If you would rather stay in the comfort of your own home, I do not blame you, so why not have a garage sale? A garage sale will give you the chance to not only put your clothes on display to earn some extra cash but will give you the chance to display any other items you do not have a use for anymore. A perfect time for garage sales tend to be in the spring and summer mornings when more are inclined to go for a walk around the block with their dog and then happen to be intrigued to stop by and see what is for sale. If you live in a residential area is this a great alternative to rather having to leave your house for the city to get rid of your used clothing. Compared to the retail thrift shops that give you some money in return for your clothing is incomparable to the amount you could possibly make from holding a garage sale. Because many clothes are manufactured every year with a majority coming from unsafe work conditions it is very serious to be able to slow down the process by not contributing by reusing and not purchasing extensive amounts of clothing from corporations.

With the lock-down that is in place, it is a perfect time to take a look at how you could add more space to your closet and see what you could do with them!
