This is how to keep your skin looking good even when youare in the colder weather. These tips will help keep your skin glowing through the cold months!

We all love autumn and winter for all the spiced lattes, warm colours and make up looks but what it also means is that the weather gets much colder. It’s important to look after your skin and even more so during cold weather so it’ll look flawless and stay healthy. There are three main ways how to keep your skin looking good in the cold weather and they are by having a good morning, night and weekly routines.

1. Morning Routine

This may be the most important routine on how to keep your skin looking good out of the three and something you have to do every morning before you leave the house.

Use sun cream – I know sun cream is something most people only use during the summer but it is just as important to use when it’s cold, even when it’s cloudy and snowing. There are still uv rays during autumn and winter so by putting sun cream on you’re protecting your skin from sun damage. When buying a sun cream always look for one which has either an spf of 30 or more for more protection.

Vaseline is your best friend throughout autumn and winter – your skin includes your lips and we all know how annoying dry lips can get. So by using Vaseline in your morning (also night) routine you’re lips will not get crusty. If you’re wearing make up then you can wear a gloss instead but it may not be as effective.

Don’t go overboard with the face powder – if you wear make up then you might want to put the powder down, the worst thing to do in winter is let your face go too dry. If you have oily skin then you should put a little on but if you have dry skin then you should only put it on your t-zone because your face tends to dry up during autumn and winter.

2. Night Routine

Having a night routine is important because it helps your skin heal whilst you sleep. You have to find your own night routine which suits your own skin type, but here are a few ideas.

Find a night cream or serum – find a night cream or serum which is best for your skin and will keep your skin looking flawless during autumn and winter. If you have oily skin then this is the perfect time to put loads of cream on your face and try keep it moisturized.

Face oils – another thing you should add to your night routine is a face oil especially during the cold weather. But not only for your face, you should use coconut oil for your lips to keep them soft, and even on your eyebrows to make them fuller. If you have dry skin you should consider using a face oil all the time.

3. Weekly Routine

These are some things you should try to do once a week some of which you can do more often if you would like for tips on how to keep your skin looking good.

Steam your face – it’s not great to steam your face very often but you should try to do it once a week for 5-10 minutes and 15 minutes if you have acne but doing it once a month for 15-20 minutes is fine too. This is important to do because it’ll clean out your pores and you will see how much softer your skin will feel.

Aloe vera gel – you can buy aloe vera gel from Holland And Barrets for around £10 and by using this once or twice a week and leaving it on for around half an hour you will see just how much your skin will improve and help your skin look flawless when it’s cold. If you have acne scars you can use it more times a week and even leave it on overnight to help reduce them.

Lip scrub – this is another important thing to use often because it’ll get rid of dry skin on your lips, use an oil or Vaseline straight after. You can buy one for as little as £2 or make one at home using 2 tbsp of sugar and 1 tbsp of honey which works just as great.
