The shelves are currently busy stocking up with tinsel and tree lights!
That’s right! We’ve finally reached that time of year again where children are working hard to stay off the naughty list! Christmas is just around the corner, so why not bring home a little bit of festivity before the holiday rush clears out the isles!
Unfortunately, this year hasn’t exactly panned out the way many of us were hoping for, however, just because the Grinch came early doesn’t mean we can’t make the most out of our beloved-seasonal tradition!
Get ready to sort out your pictures for Pinterest! Here is a list of some amazing holiday home decor’s that just scream “Happy Holidays 2020”!
1. Festive Door Wreath
If there’s one thing more welcoming this time of year other than the inflatable snowman waving hello on your front lawn, it’s a good old fashion Christmas wreath!
Subtle yet inviting, investing in a good wreath can be a treat to both you and your guests this holiday season due to it’s simplistic, yet aesthetically pleasing looks. Of course, it might not be as exciting as the vibrant lighting and moving reindeers you see on the lawns of every other neighboring household, but its just enough to get the holiday season going!
2. Silver Bells
Those sleigh bells are quite the attention grabber! So why not bring home a few of them this year? I don’t think Santa would mind.
Fortunately, there are no set requirements as to how you use bells for decorative purposes, giving you the opportunity to show off your creative skills and imagination! For example, why not string a few of them up on the mantle, or perhaps wrap them together with a little tinsel to place on the railings and/or the Christmas tree itself. Of course, the bells you use don’t have to be real. In fact, you can purchase a couple of plastic ones at your local craft store. You are also more than guaranteed to find a few of them online through sites such as Etsy, Amazon, and even Dollar tree.
Christmas stockings are extremely festive and quite handy for those surprise holiday treats. These bag-shaped-socks are a traditional must have for both the young and old, not to mention they blend in extremely well with other holiday home decor.
While hanging stockings over the chimney is an integral part of Christmas, you can also hang them on the walls, hook them over a couple of chairs, or leave them outside your very own bedroom. You have the option of purchasing your own stockings, or making some on your own, which can be a rather fun and productive project the whole family can love.
4. Mr. and Mrs. Clause Décor
There’s nothing jollier than the iconic depiction of St. Nick himself. Both him and Mrs. Clause work hard all year round to prepare for one special day, all for the sake of spreading joy and happiness for family’s around the world.
There are countless displays to choose from that vary from dishware, clothing, and of course dolls. From personal experience, my mother every year would put up her favorite vintage doll set of this adorable couple, and it would also put a smile on my face every time I saw it. This idea might not be for everyone, as it can be seen as a bit “cheesy” for some (and understandably so), but I can assure you that it will certainly fill your household with holiday cheer this year.
It’s also important to remember that while it’s nice receiving gifts, we should also keep in mind that spending time with the people you love most is what Christmas is really all about, and this decorative duo can be made as a perfect reminder.
5. A Tiny Village
Christmas decorations don’t necessarily have to include only bright lights and colorful ornaments; instead, why not bring back a little bit of the classic holiday collections for a more vibrant, and bold look around the house!
Once adored and popularized throughout the U.S, miniature Christmas villages are truly a site to behold! A cute and fun little project that can be easily put together and set up for the whole family to enjoy. Collections have spanned for decades and can fill entire rooms – from young children playing in the snow, to adults shoveling the sidewalk or keeping warm by the fireplace at home with a loved one, it’s entirely up to you on how big or small you wish your village to be.
So why not go a little extra this year and include this little addition to your holiday home decor! For fun, you can walk yourselves through these tiny Christmas villages — just enough to make you and even your visitors feel like your in a storybook.
6. Window Snowflakes
Up next on this years list of unique holiday home decor, window snowflakes!
Be one of the first to welcome both the holiday season, and the cold winter weather to come! Decorating doesn’t have to be the chore many make it out to be, instead, have fun with it and get creative with a more DIY approach this year! Christmas decorations can be subtle and still enjoyable to show off to your friends and neighbors.
Your window snowflakes can be made from foam, paper, and even popsicle sticks. Bring along some of the fun to your kids, friends, and maybe even pets.
7. Lights on the Railway
It can be hard finding those milk and cookies in the dark, so why not light the way to keep Santa from waiting!
Beautiful and bright, hallway lights can be truly breath taking if done the right. Perfect for both the inside and outside of your home! Wrap them in a spiral, or leave them to carelessly dangle about as you make your way upstairs. Some lights even come together in garland to show off a bit more of a classy display.
8. Elf on a Shelf
He knows if you’ve been bad or good, so be good for goodness sake!
Let’s not forget about Santa’s little helpers! Elf on a shelf is a precious childhood memory many have cherished for decades.
