There are a variety of restaurants to satisfy your cravings and provide decent portion sizes, while being college student budget friendly. Here’s where to get the best food around Michigan State!

1. Peanut Barrel

If you’re in the mood for a burger, look no further than Peanut Barrel. Nested in the center of Grand River, from the Rodeo Burger to the Garden Burger, there is something for everyone’s dietary needs. Don’t forget to check out the drink menu as well, Peanut Barrel is known to have the best Long Island in the area. Long Island Love Sunday’s are real! If you don’t know what that is, it’s never too late to find out!

2. Sultan’s

Out of all of the Mediterranean places in the area, Sultan’s is the most authentic. From the numerous vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, the chicken shawarma combo is the one to try if it is your first time. The portion sizes are enormous and I usually end up taking enough home for later. Also, Sultan partners with the Hooked app (download it on your phone if you don’t have it, I’ve been able to save quite a bit!) and usually have a $5 chicken shawarma combo box to go deal. Don’t forget to grab a health juice or Baklava on your way out!

One of the best things about NoThai is how everything on their menu is customizable, from the protein to spice level, you can get your food just how you like it. The portions are great whether you eat in or get your food delivered. The restaurant does a great job of serving authentic food with an American twist. Pair the Pad Thai curry with the Thai iced tea, the combination is to die for!
