2. Raw Food 

What It Is: The Raw Food Diet is a diet where you only eat food that has not been cooked over 118 degrees Fahrenheit. 

What It Excludes: Any food that has been cooked beyond 118 degrees Fahrenheit. 

What You Should Know: This diet like others has a lot of controversy. There is no evidence that this is better for you than other diets. However you do get far fewer calories from raw food.

What Is It: Whole30 is a 30 clean eating meal plan.

What It Excludes: All dairy, sugar/sweetener, grains, legumes, and alcohol.

What You Should Know: There is no counting of any kind. Eat what is on the list and you are going to experience the results you want. Whole30 is one of the easiest food diets to understand but is not a life time plan and is only designed for 30 days.

4. Mediterranean

What Is It: The Mediterranean diet is eating traditional foods from countries like Greece and Italy from the 1960’s.

What It Excludes: Processed sugar, processed meats, refined grains, anything processed. Rarely eat; red meat, moderately eat; poultry, eggs, cheese, and yogurt.

What You Should Know: This is not primarily used as a strict food diet alone, this is supposed to be a lifestyle change. The Mediterranean diet includes talking with others while eating, exercising regularly, and drinking wine.

5. Intermittent Fasting

What Is It: Intermittent Fasting is an eating pattern where you go a certain time for fasting and a set time for eating.

What It Excludes: Eating at certain times and certain amount of calories. 

What You Should Know: There are a few types of intermittent fasting such as 16/8 Method (restricts eating to 8 hours per day), Stop-Eat-Stop (restricts eating completely for 1 or 2 days a week), 5:2 Diet (restricts food to 500-600 calories per day twice a week).

What Is It: The Vegan diet is where you only eat non-animal foods and bi-products.

What You Should Know: The Zone diet is made easier by apps such as MyFitnessPal. If you want to do the non technological route, hand-eye method or block method would be used.

What Is It: Paleo is a diet where you eat the same foods as our hunter-gathering ancestors.

What It Excludes: Sugar, high fructose corn syrup, grains, legumes, dairy, some vegetable oils, trans fats, artificial sweeteners, processed foods.
