8 DIY Presents For Your SO

Whether it’s for a birthday, anniversary, or just to remind them that you love them, it’s always nice to give your SO personal presents. But, if you’re on a budget, it can seem difficult to spoil your SO. So, here we have eight really simple, personal and cheap ideas for DIY presents for your SO.

1. Make your own candle

Who doesn’t love receiving a candle? There’s nothing nicer on a cold and rainy day than having a cosy day in, surrounded by lit candles. So what could be better than a candle with a scent that reminds you of your SO? Try making your own candle for a super personal DIY present. Or even make it a date and try making DIY candles together!

2. Jar full of notes

Whether you fill it with memories, cute compliments, positive quotes, or your own personal jokes, why not fill a really cute jar with things to make your SO smile? It’s so simple and sentimental, you can’t go wrong! It can be really nice for your SO to be able to open up the jar and read through your notes when they’re feeling down or away from you.

3. Pressed flower art

Pressed flower art can be super personal and thoughtful. Did your boyfriend buy you some roses for your birthday? Press them to make some beautiful art for your house together. Or do you buy your girlfriend the same bunch of flowers every year? Why not mix it up and try pressing some flowers instead! Or perhaps make it a fun activity for you to do together?

4. A photo board

Is there anything better than looking back on your best memories as a couple? Why not print some cute polaroids and attach them to a beautiful copper wire memory board so every day you can look at your best times together. You could also try attaching postcards from trips or other sentimental items, like key rings, tickets, anything that means something to you.

5. Make a CD

This is the ideal present for a music lover and a really cute old school idea. Buy yourself a blank CD – which is super cheap – and fill it with songs that bring back memories for you both, or maybe just their favourite songs – this is a really thoughtful DIY gift for your SO.

6. A birthday box

If it’s your SO’s birthday, why not get yourself a nice box and decorate it which pictures and then fill it with their favourite things! It adds a really nice personal touch to basic gifts and is really simple and easy to do.
